Where is carb drain screw?
« on: October 18, 2010, 02:42:26 PM »
Service manual mentions it several times, but it is not shown on the pic.
Diagrams on Stadium Yamaha show only whole carb assembly without identifying individual parts.
?

Tnx.

They are usually at the very bottom of the carburator bowl , which makes sense if you think about it . I have only drained lawn mower carburator bowls though . Good luck .

I know it should be somewhere on the bottom part. The problem is that carb is so tiny, I have no idea how are you supposed to drain that thing, unless you are a tiny spider that can crawl under the carb and use nano-screwdriver technology, considering that there is 1 cm space between carb and engine port. In fact, I have no idea how you can drain that unless you remove the whole carb (which defeats the purpose, I guess).

Yes, seems nothing is quite easy to get to on these. Especially frustrating when you are working in the cold and also in the dark! Glad you got it going again!

These are the only conditions under which I have ever fixed something on any scoot!
Considering that I do not have a garage and can work on the scoot after work (after 6 pm = dark), I usually work in dark and cold AND rain *AND* a few times SNOW.
Lots of fun.
