Title: Speedometer Error Correctible?
Post by: mrmike on September 10, 2013, 11:50:46 PM
I have a 2012 GTI300. My speedometer reads about 2mph fast when checked with a GPS. Will changing the front tire from a 110/70-16 to a 120/70-16 help to correct this? I'm going to upgrade to Michelin City Grips and would like to correct the speedometer at the same time. I believe the slightly bigger diameter would help.

You have already been given very good advice regarding tire size.

Your speedo is 2 percent off?  It seems to me tire wear alone is going to account for more than 2 percent.

Only two percent off?  You need to park that scoot in the garage and save it for the scooter museum.  No one has a speedo that accurate.
