Even id the seat is properly latched, the light stays on. I think this causing my battery to drain out after a few days.
Anyway to fix this issue or at least disconnect the light somehow???
Also what does MET mean anyways?

There are one or two switches on the seat latching mechanism(s) that turn the MET-in light on. One or both are misadjusted. These switches also turn on (and off) the underseat storage light. Assuming the X-500 is similar to the Yager and the DT 300i first remove the seat then the seat tub to gain access to the latches and the switches. Adjust switches until problem goes away.

Sometime mine stays on after I shut it. A thud/wack on the back of the seat pops the prong down into the latch. And the light goes off. Sometime it does not latch all the way down when u close the seat. :-*

there is 2 locking mech. and one switch some times the switch side does not lock and your light is on . I disconnected mine no more problems,. about 3 inches from the lock is a plug that you can disconnect,.

I have a 2009 if you are sitting on the bike it is on the right side. Under the seat battery compartment lock holds the button on the mechanism. I just had mine replaced the lock was 30 dollars and a couple of bucks for labor. I waited long enough to need a new battery.

This does seem to be an issue with this model.
When I had to work on the seat latch (rhs),I found the light switch cable cut, so obviously the previous owner had already experienced a flat battery from this.
If it had not been cut,I would have disconnected the plug.
