Title: Rollers for better mileage?
Post by: houndguy on March 17, 2014, 12:43:29 PM
I am thinking of going up a couple of grams on the rollers to increase my mileage on the highway.  Now refresh my memory please, the stock are 28 g?  So I should be OK with 30 g rollers?

I'm sure this topic has been touched on before.

Thanks.  :)

There 30G stock on my 2007? I thought they were 33G on the fuel injected models? :-*

Well my Kimmie has been repaired without the roller replacement.  I was considering it but decided to do it when I have to replace the belt later on.  Just makes a little more sense to me.

33.5 default weight. So, what is your experiment status in 2024?

Doubt you’ll get a response from houndguy as he looks to have given up on biking. He’s not been on here for 8 years. This is from his blog:

Despite the crash and relative bad luck that was November and December of this year...I can honestly state that 2016 was a good year at the Wilson home.

My dearly departed Kimmie and I managed to put some 6000+ miles on her before her death.  It's hard for me to believe that a mere 3 weeks ago I was looking forward to the adventures of 2017.  Now we are in the closing moments of 2016 and I'm seriously debating if I'll ever get on another bike again.

@darkshvein, as Neil writes its a rather old thread.
Maybe you find smtg in the link below to reduce consumption.

Just a word of advice. Don't listen to anybody. Take your scooter apart to make sure what weight rollers you have from the factory before you order new ones. I took someone's advice and ended up buying the same weight I already had. It doesn't take that long to get them shipped, and it may save doing the job twice. Bye the way I went to lighter weight by 1 1.5 grams Dr Pulley sliders for better acceleration, and was very happy with my results
