Title: Super 9s making a weird noise. Please help !
Post by: danntgod on June 10, 2014, 01:12:50 AM: Hello guys, i don't know much about scooters and i'm trying to sell mine as I have a car now and no longer uses the scooter. I took a video of the scooter because I can't really explain the noise..
It doesn't seem to be much trouble but still bothers me with my sale.
Could you guys help me out ? Thank you very much I'd really appreciate it !!

Post by: zombie on June 10, 2014, 01:34:12 AM: It sounds like either a strand of the belt has seperated or a piece of the clutch pad has come loose or is worn away.

It's an easy deal to open the CVT, and get a better look. You can remove the starter bendix, and run the bike to see what is happening.

I pull the cover off, and remove the bendix. Then reinstall the cover w/ like three bolts. Kick start, and pull the cover back off.

ThaT'S IF YOU CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM SIMPLY Y TAKING IT APART.

Hmm, might it change something if I added that the scooter still runs pretty smooth, doesn't seem broken or anything and if I recall correctly the sound stops or really reduce once the scooter gets hot.

Post by: zombie on June 10, 2014, 01:45:16 AM: It may just be a broken clutch spring too. It's really not serious, and new parts will cost well under 100.00 including an impact driver to take off the clutch bell.

Perhaps hold tight on your price, andshow the buyer this thread. maybe give 100.00 off if they insist but the S9 is worth $$$ especially in running shape. They were the fastest 50cc bikes in the US for quite awhile.
