Title: Transmission holding tool?
Post by: hypophthalmus on August 03, 2014, 07:44:56 PM
Can anyone recommend a tool for holding the spinning parts of the transmission?
Would this work: http://tinyurl.com/nd83kng (http://tinyurl.com/nd83kng) ?
Or maybe a strap wrench?

Cheaper & proper tools sold on eBay and sometimes Amazon.
Search bing images for  " variator tool ".
Stigthe one with the red handle is what you're after.
Cheaper knock-offs avail. too.
Some guys make their own...hardware from Lowe's
