Hi all,
Cant get my S9 to start after it's been standing for 1 week, no issues prior to that, nothing touched.
Elec start drains the battery in 3-4 goes and doesn't start. Kickstart doesn't seem to do anything either, not even small signs of starting.
Checked spark against the block, it's there but possibly slightly weak. Cleaned the carb, still nothing.
What else is there to try / replace.... autochoke? starter motor? Do these have a kill switch?

The kill switch is a rocker on the right handlebar.
I think the run position is down. Also try rocking
the switch on and off a few times. Check the vacuum
line from petcock is good ( no holes ). Check the two fuses
in the battery box.

Also check the starter ground and make sure it is getting a good connection and not corroded and covered with crud.
-
Also change the plug. It may be fouled.

if youre getting any spark at all just spray some ether, starting fluid, carb cleaner, wd40, basically anything flammable thats an aerosol oil into where you insert your spark plug. This gives it a kickstart and wont harm your scooter. Helped me start mine after not winterizing properly.

Sounds as if you are having reed problems. Replace these the thicker the better.

Um... NO!

My 2005 vitality does this when I drain my carb an change jets or let it sit for about a week an a half. Remove the snorkel tube from the air box and choke the air box with your hand as you try to start it, improved vacuum gets the fuel flowing. May take a few seconds for it to start with doing this but it works for me. Sometimes I gotta twist the throttle a bit as well.

Do like he said and try either see if it will start
