I'm looking to putting in lighter weight rollers in to get a better take-off. Any idea what size weight to order? currently got stock in

If your going to change them get Dr. Pulley 12-13g. Sliders out perform rollers in every aspect.

You know what width at least I think thats the first two numbers when they list them. I see numbers like 15x12, 16x13, 20x15, etc but cannot find a direct link to a super8 150 and what it uses.

18x14 is correct, although I hate to tell you this. ANY slider other than Dr. Pulley is 100% CRAP. They will wear out very fast, and the time I tried cheap O sliders they would ALWAYS flip and then the bike would feel like your taking off in "2nd" gear. I would through those in the garbage as soon as they get to your door, and order a set of the Dr. Pulley sliders. Yes they are fairly expensive, but they will last FOR EVER and not flip on you, even once.

btw, i have no luck unscrewing the variator nut. we tried with another friend. ordered a special locking tool, did not expect this damn thing to be so tight

Use a breaker bar and that tool resting on the clutch. Or use an impact driver.

I got one of these to help with removing variator nut but I thought I read in another thread that the S8 has a plastic ramp on the outside. Is this true and is it safe to use this type of tool to hold the plastic piece to remove the variator nut.

I've tried 14, 13, 12 and eventually settled with 10.5 gram Dr. Pulley sliders.
The stock rollers are 13 grams.

NO! The plastic fan will break. I use a putty knife jammed in the teeth, and wedged against the engine case when there is no impact around. Be careful here too because the case may crack. You have to find a thick section, and be sure the blade is square, and flat across the surface to distribute the force across a larger area.
That tool will work on your clutch bell tho.

Few of my friends use this when they are tuning roller weights.

I used the nylon version of those for a long time.
The kind made for large oil filters.
