Title: LED bulbs
Post by: mrmike on June 14, 2015, 10:00:40 AM
In January 2013 I bought 2 LED tower bulbs. I installed them on my GTI300 as running lights where the European turn signals go. I noticed the other night that they now are different levels of brightness from each other. Some of the strips of lights no longer work so the brightness levels vary. Is this the normal way these bulbs wear out, or do I have another problem? Any experiences, thoughts, or suggestions?

Lights are usually made in China now were quality is second priority if that. And yes; I took 2 back to walmart and re-bought them because of this issue.

UPDATE:  Talked to the folks at SuperbriteLEDS today. After talking, we believe the LEDS burning out was probably caused by normal riding over rough roads, potholes, curbs etc. Scooter vibrates more than a car would. They lasted me 2 1/2 years, so I ordered replacements and we'll see how these do.

l also put in some led running lights in my LIKE200i.....but too soon some portions burned out...and worse -- some portions started flickering, mimicking a turn signal!!!
Removed them and put in some reg amber 5W bulbs a year and a half ago. Still working fine....and pretty darn bright from the front.

The running lights on my Yager are very close to the headlight, making it seem like a single light.
I wanted some low wattage led lights with a different color contrast and found these.

Nice crisp white light, good contrast to the halogen headlight.
Not sure about the brightness in daytime, but they light up the road nicely at night.
