Title: spark plug / exhaust /paper crunching noise....

In my quest to solve the paper crunching noise enigma, I noticed something that seems to be attached to teh exhause.... a spark plug. Sorry, but Mr. Super Noob over here knows essentially nothing about motors so please forgive me upfront. anyway-is this where the spark plug is? I have a new spark plug but am not sure how to install it.

What you are indicating is the O2 sensor (oxygen). Kinda looks like a spark plug but ain't! Follow that exhaust pipe up into the engine room to where it attaches to the "head" of the cylinder. move your hand around to machine left and you will find the spark plug cable.
