Title: 2007 Kmyco Xciting 500 1229 Miles (1967 km)

I was parked for about 9 months before I came across it. I will start and run for a bit just till it comes off of choke. Then it idles for a few minutes then it will die and restart. Running it through a range of rpms it will pop sometimes like it is gasping for air. I want to go on some long rides, but am worried about it since it does not want to idle. By the way the idle screw is turned all the way in and it idles at around 1000 rpms. HELP WHAT DO I NEED TO DO!

Sounds like the carb needs a thorough cleaning. The Idle jet is the smallest, and therefore will clog first. The popping is a lean condition, and I would not ride it until the carb is cleaned. There is really no short-cut here.

I cleaned the carb now to get it to start again. I hate dry carbs

The best thing to do at this point is, add 2oz of Sea Foam per gallon of fuel, replace the fuel filter, and spark plug. After that first tank of fuel runs thru you should be fine. The Sea Foam will clean out any varnish from the fuel as well as remove the aluminum oxide created from the ethanol in the fuel.

Not funny guys But got a new plug tonight replacing it tomorrow and charging the battery try again and see where she takes me

Ok I got the carb back on after a R&I and I think the plug is to wet to fire so now for a new plug

Great News got the plug in. Turned the key on and she fired right up. Idles great runs great now for a road test

Warmed up here too, 52 F yesterday and expect 48 to 50 F today.  I think I'm gonna leave work early and go for a ride...

Toast...  French toast, Cinnamon, powdered sugar, maple syrup - you guys are making me hungry.

So Arkie looks like a good time to see how it runs and go for a "test" ride.  ;D

I'm thinkin' that the Xciting 500 is more than enough bike to go toolin' down to Daytona on I-95. I just have o get up the nerve.. and the cash... and get the dealer to order one...

I guess I'll be paying the dealer a visit next weekend.
