Well, first thing I would recommend cutting the cdi this will definiatly add a few extra miles an hour, but you have to do this correctly or you will have to buy a new CDI. The cdi is located next to your battery it is a small black box. Secondly you can tweak your transmission, new springs for faster take off. Thirdly you can get a new variator and variator roolers, lighter weight roller = faster take off heavier roolers = higher top speed slower take off. And lastly you can rejet the carborator. These are the least expensive things you can do for derestriction.
Mine was derestricted I was gettng about 42mph on flat ground, everyone has recomended getting a big bore kit, so i did i am having a few hiccups right now, but when i get my scoot going I will post on how performance is. Also look through all the pages especially the earlier pages for derestrict, and on you tube there is a good walkthrough on changing your variator and rollers

...also, along with the cdi, you should check your variator for a bushing...remove it!!
-
about cutting the cdi .. how to i doo it ??? and is it in the same box as battery ?
-
Search in the top right of the page. Look up de-restricted cdi, or agility 50, or wordslinger. Any of theese will get you to some posts that will show you how.
-
...but there was a change in cdi's...i'm not sure when the change took place...the older ones had an external wire...mine required notching the casing to "clip" the wire...
-
It's all good. What collor wires are coming out of your cdi. We will get it right.
-
sorry i took long to reply .. and coming out the CDI box there in a little white block attached to the box and there are 4 wires one is a "big green" one annother is "half black half yellow" the other two are "hlaf blue half yellow" and "half blue and half black" which wire do i cut ??? ???
-
...neither...you gotta do this...
..unless ur cdi is like on the bottom pic..
-
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! that looks too difficult :/
-
...nah...just take a hacksaw or a file and notch it about 1/4"...
-
is tht all ?
-
Wordslinger ----- do i just file down the middle edge about 1 uquarter down and tht shud be it ?
-
...yup...that's it...
-
You will want to look closely while cutting. you should see the wire as you begin to cut thru it.

..i believe it has green insulation around the conductor...very small wire...
-
do i not cut the wire not ?
-
Cut it!
-
okay just to get this straight ... i cut the line untill i see a green think wire .. than cut the wire ?
-
100% correct.
-
cut the wire completly in half ?
-
...the wire is embedded about 1/16" below the surface of the casing....
..if you cut 1/4 inch diagonal gap, juist like the pic, you will get it...
..though, you may never see the wire at all..the blade may drag the plastic back over the wire making it hard to see...
-
so file a quarter the way down the box and tht shud be it ?
-
...dude...just like in the pics below....
