Title: Fix for hard seat?
Post by: rick71 on January 30, 2010, 08:40:49 PM
I have been comparing the seats on the 500cc and up scoots. I noticed the seat on the Xciting is fairly hard. Since I am leaning towards the Xciting, this is not good. Anyone know of an inexpensive way to soften it up?

I was surprised to find the seat of the Piaggio BV 500 to be the most comfortable. I was also surprised to find that the seat of the Burgman 650 was not the most comfortable.

Any good auto upholstery shop can modify your seat into anything you want. $50.00 or so should get you quite a commfy bum.

That was fast :-)

Thanks. I guess I'll start looking for one around town.

No troubles. Ask if you can see some first hand samples. Some shops have better stitch work than others. Sounds like you may just need to change out the padding though.

I changed out the stock seat fairly quickly on my X500. Picked some colors and had a shop make this one. Here's a link to picures.  http://picasaweb.google.com/home?tab=mq (http://picasaweb.google.com/home?tab=mq)

It was expensive as I chose multiple layers of a dense foam imported from Germany, chose custom colors and a premium naugahide. Not sure how to spell that one.

This seat is softer, lower and comfortable. Longest trip, so far, 1500 miles in 5 days and most of that on interstate.

I didn't see a seat there. It went to a login page. I would love to see it.

Now I understand. Try this one: http://picasaweb.google.com/bongo420 (http://picasaweb.google.com/bongo420)

My computer automatically logs in so I assumed y'all would too. This link goes to the public gallery. Atleast I think it does.
