When I bought my 2009 Xciting 250, I had no idea I'd be driving it so much. As it stands now, I drive to work 3 or 4 days per week about 50 miles each way. At mostly speeds of around 60-65 mph. I change the oil and gear oil according to schedule. I use mobile 1 15w-50 full synthetic oil. I know that no one has a crystal ball, but will my scooter stand up under those conditions? It seems to easily maintain that speed without straining . Other than having to replace tires more often due to the high miles, are there any other things I should look for? So far I have had Zero problems. The oil minder light comes on every 3-4 weeks. And I immediately change it when I get home that day.
I know that my automobile tends to last longer (mileage wise) under those conditions. But I know NOTHING about scooters other than what I've learned here and what I've read elsewhere.

Keep doing what you're doing and enjoy the ride.
That scoot should pull you around at 65-70 no problems as long as you do the PM.
Ride safe.

Belt shredded this morning on the way to work. Fortunately I was only 3 miles from home. Yesterday after church I cruised a lightly traveled road about 30 miles from home. And my normal work route consists of a stretch of several miles between nowhere and nowhere else with spotty cellphone reception.
Belt looked good 2000 miles ago. I suspect that it may have been deteriorated from old age. And I couldn't see it with the naked eye.

If you decide to order from them, give them a call with your vehicle VIN. They are super helpful.

Once I replaced the belt, I can cruise at 70 @7500rpm. I usually keep it around 65 though. I use synthetic oil and change it as soon as the light comes on. Hopefully I'll have MANY nearly trouble free miles.
