You can also try some minor upgrades before you cylinder kit, such as free flow air filter. An aftermarket exhaust will give you extra 8mph easily. Aftermarket variator and clutch kits. Tuning roller weights and clutch springs. Then, you could try a bigger cylinder and carb.
-
Exactly what shub said. If you need some links to parts you have come to the right place. I would start w/ the cvt. Tune it up, and then go to the fuel system.
-
you could also save some money and get some 150cc short cases and build a 150 GY6 engine.

Okay, here you go:
Air Filter:

Transmission kit:

Exhaust:

Another exhaust, this is what i just ordered:
http://www.provoscooter.com/tecnigas-next-r-pipe-chome-139qmb-kymco-50-4t.html (http://www.provoscooter.com/tecnigas-next-r-pipe-chome-139qmb-kymco-50-4t.html)
Since you're going let the shop install these things, they'll be tuning your carb for ya (hopefully).
And you probably want to tune the transmission yourself for better acceleration or top speed.
Btw, did you install a de-restricted variator boss?

If you go to a jug kit in the future that is a better pipe than the next r. It makes better power w/ the increased cc's. If you stay w/ the 50cc's then the next r is better. I also believe you need a bigger head w/ the jug kit to run the rs2.
-
...i regularly run 80-85 kmh downhill...
..have ran faster under optimum conditions...
-
if you're looking at any major changes to your bike, this is worth a shot:

Suprisingly cheap too actually, i wanted to get one in my S8 but my parents don't want me to run the risk of being caught by police. :(

They go really fast once pushed off a cliff. But not for long.
.
-
could of just saved your self some money by just buying a 125 or 150 the frist time .
if you wana go faster then 50 on the agilty go with a bigger bike all around and safe money.
with a 50 you can only do so much to make go faster buy the time you put all that cash in to it
you could of had a bigger scoot in the frist place. unless a motorcycle indorsement is the issue
here. dont mean to sound harsh about this but just saying.
-
I do agree with you Blue, but when you have a 50cc scooter and then you start to play with it you seem to get a bug that just grows. It is all about having some fun.
-
Scoo assassins is a decent outfit. I have delt w/ them, and they sell mainly generic race parts (Chinese) at fair prices. I tell EVERYONE If you want to improve your 4t the real gains are in the head, and not the jug kit. 2t's respond to jugs...4t's respond to heads/cams. Try SIP scooter shop. They have distributors all around you. http://www.sip-scootershop.com/main/base/Home.aspx (http://www.sip-scootershop.com/main/base/Home.aspx)
-
true I have that bug in me too my scoot gos about 45 to 50 and im happy with just that.
so ill leave alone for now .my next thing would be turn it in to a trike.
-
If you want to improve your 4t the real gains are in the head,
..so, i could change just the head on my stock engine and see an improvement?
-
^yea what he said, i wanna know too.
-
..yeah me too...
..oh, that WAS me....
-
It only makes sense! The jug on a 4t will only increase torque thru the volume of fuel you can flo thru it. The head shape, and valve size can be manipulated, to increase the flow to a larger degree. Add a cam w/ higher duration, and in effect you have increased the working displacement of fuel/air. If it were mine I would find an old head, and a good machine shop. Have the biggest valves they can find cut into new seats. Keep the stock proportions/ratio. (100mm intakex150mm exhaust)=1000mm intakex1500mm exhaust. Any good valve can be cut to length, and any seat can be installed. ! would imagine 100-150 bucks out the door for a full race head. Just a thought.
-
..what about that head that i was looking at for the polini cylinder kit...think it'll work on the stock jug?
-
I thought about that but the combustion chamber is cut to a larger diameter. The piston in the jug kit may be set up differently also. (clearence for the valves). Maybe try looking up a shop that does motorcycle heads to get an idea on punching out a stock head. It may pay to buy a new stock, and have it worked. I imagine a pair of valves from a 150cc, and new seats would be around 50 bucks. the machine work 50-100.? the head 100? That would be my route.
-
The thing is its a trade off between reliability and mpg when you mess with these engines. if you just derestrict them properly they stay reliable with only a slight increase in mpg. I see big bore kits for next to nothing on ebay but why bother. There a lot of hassle for not a lot of reward. If you really want more performance just put the bigger motor in it. Its got all the bigger bits in to be reliable.
-
..i worry not about mpg...only performance...
-
Reliability is always an issue, if you upgrade only one part the rest of the engine wont cope for very long.
-
..i'm all about reliability..
my a50 is gettin' ready to trip 50,000kms...
-
Joeboy has a valid point. Y bother if you are going to blow it up? The answer for me is ....... Getting 13-20HP from a 3-6HP engine means the world to me. ANY DI<K head can put a big engine in any scooter. (Yeah I spelled scooter) Getting more HP from a smaller engine is the goal. I am trying to find a 125cc engine right now to fit my 50cc. That way I don't have any loss while I build my 50 into a 125 that will blow the wheels off any 250cc stock. I was afraid to build the HP into a frame that cannot handle the torque, but I figure at 53 years old if I crash, and burn on a scoot!!!!!!!!!!! So frigin what! At least I got done what I wanted
-
They have nothing in their whole imperial arsenal that can break the spirit of one Irishman who doesn't want to be broken.
-
...45...55..65 mph..it'sall gona hurt like hell...
..dang..ur 53?...
..i've had a screamin' lil 4-stroke for a while now...she's ran wide th' fck open for the last year...comes a time for upgrading ...
..of course, bearings and seals will fail over time..it's just going to happen when you contnuously turn these engines to their max...
-
If its just a hobby and a project to see what these motors can do then great, but if you want a fast reliable scoot for commuting and regular trips it makes sense to go for the bigger motor with the bigger transmission etc.
-
..i've been riding my '08 A50 nearly 50 miles every day since december of 07...

yeah but you have a clue what your doing... :)
-
but if you want a fast reliable scoot for commuting and regular trips it makes sense to go for the bigger motor with the bigger transmission etc. Yo Joeboy... This is the 50cc end of the forum. Bigger engines are CHEATING! I only want more cc's to maintain my current level while I build mine to kick the dog dirt out of EVERYTHING else. Picture a 50cc scoot PASSING your IROC on the main drag in anytown USA.
-
yeah but you have a clue what your doing
..i reckon i have a general idea...

How many posts on here saying, "fiitng my big bore kit today" then their never heard from again... :)

..too many...most of them never run another mile...money wasted...
..because most of them have tried using cheap generic parts that didn't fit, and they had not the recourses to make the parts fit when they didn't...

I have found in my many years of motoring, if you want to go fast, buy the fast machine. By all means get a little extra out of what you have if its an easy mod. But dont believe the hype. The big bore kit, the performance filter and jet are all hype. Just enjoy what you have, the freedom to go where you want when you want with a reliable machine. I have 2 fzr 1000 exups (145 bhp), i enjoy them to the max but i have no problem nipping into town with either the agility 50 or the peugeot trekker, there all just as much fun as each other in their own way.
Its all about the experience of biking not the bike your on.
-
..now that's more like it zzzz....
..the white shirt and tie thing is hott...
..i choose to scoot...
