Post by: refrig on August 29, 2016, 12:45:26 AM
Ordered a new malossi M519988. I know about not using the spring included. Is the steel washer used?

I think you're referring to the bushing, approx 2" long?, yes it's used.  Good luck.

The black plastic piece is not used.  I think it's a restriction, would keep the variator from closing completely, limit top speed.  If you are not referring to the bushing, I don't know what washer you are referring too.  Can you post a pic?

Should have Gone Dr.Pulley and sliders. Malossi is over rated..... was not happy with paying so much for the 19mm carb to find out that the exact same dellorto "black racing edition" PHGB had a better throttle adjustment and better manual shutoff, and was 1/2 the cost. the rollers flatten out and just are not as good as sliders. the ramps are improved on the malossi because the ramps dont have flat spots which makes rollers last longer, but damn. Over rated..... And for a clutch I prefer the design of stage6 R/T then the Malossi MHR. I prefer the naraku Torque shim over the Malossi Torque shim, the list kinda goes on..... But i realize now that all these components arent for the person who knows what they are buying and how to tune, its for plug and play and people with limited knowledge. Im fortunate to be able to see the different builds and setups to determine what works for me.
