I'm thinking of selling my GTI300. I'm 73 years old and hardly ride it anymore. It's a 2012 with about 4500 miles. Grey, Biondi windshield, Shad topbox, Michelin City Grips, Garmin GPS, two helmets. I live in Central New York (Syracuse), and was wondering what a fair asking price would be?

Sounds like a decent bike. Wish I could give you an idea, but I'm a bit out of your area.
Check Cycle Trader http://www.cycletrader.com/search-results?type=motorcycle%7C356953&radius=150&sort=distance%3Aasc&state=NY&page=1&make=kymco%7C6513283&model=people%7C764858490&trim=gt%20300i%7C5378& (http://www.cycletrader.com/search-results?type=motorcycle%7C356953&radius=150&sort=distance%3Aasc&state=NY&page=1&make=kymco%7C6513283&model=people%7C764858490&trim=gt%20300i%7C5378&)
for instance, & maybe keep an eye on Craigslist.
Either way you're likely to get a better price in the spring if you have the space to store it.

Did you sell it? I am about ready to upgrade and would be interested.

Still have it Emil. I think I'll ride it a few more times, store it for the winter, and probably sell it in the spring. Do you live fairly close to me? I'm in central Newe York (Syracuse).

Wow, Syracuse is next to the Finger Lakes. Quite a ride from Boston, but I could make it a 1/2 wine tasting weekend.
As for timing, spring might be a little late. I am riding my scooter any day above ~10 degrees and when there's no ice or snow on the road. I would really like to have a more comfortable ride for this winter already.
Guess I will throw my scooter on the market this week and see how it goes. I can post here when I have updates.

Hello Brother Winter Rider.
We gotta be just a little goofy...right?
I worry my eyeballs will freeze some mornings!
Watch out for stupid street cleaners spraying water down. ....I reported him to city commissioners.

Yes, maybe a bit goofy. But still better than the trouble with finding parking (and paying for it).
My eyeball might have been frozen a few times ;D but that wasn't as bad as once when I got into sub zero temps. Finger frostbite was in my fingers for a few weeks after. Ugly memory, have to think of a nice hot summer day right now...

Hey Stig, You're not the only crazy Buckeye that rides 12 months/yr. and I'm north of you in Chagrin Falls.
Emil, For what it's worth, I bought a 2012 GT300i a month ago with less than 600 miles on for $2,600. Admittedly, that was a great price and maybe a little lower than what you might get in Syracuse.

So I picked up a 2014 People 300i this weekend. Registered it today and went on 1st ride. Wohooo! Had no idea there was something like acceleration beyond 45mph ;D
Sorry mrmike, I was too impatient. But I am sure you'll easily find a buyer this spring. As far as the price goes. I'd roughly stick to what KBB suggests. http://www.kbb.com/motorcycles/kymco/people-gt-300i/2012/?pricetype=retail. (http://www.kbb.com/motorcycles/kymco/people-gt-300i/2012/?pricetype=retail.) $2,875 at the moment. Maybe you can bump it up a little with the windshield, top box and GPS. Helmets are most likely not adding any value.

I bought my 2012 People 300 this spring for $1500 had about 14k miles. I felt like that was cheap.

For that price, you stoled it!

My scooter is offically for sale. I'm asking a firm $2500.00. It has 4457 miles on it and is sitting under cover in my heated garage waiting for it's new owner. My signature block lists all the mods I've done to it & I can e-mail pictures to anyone interested. Just pm me you're E-mail address and we'll go from there. This scooter has never seen snow, and has only been in the rain 4 or 5 times. I'm 72 years old and a fair weather rider. It is in excellent condition.
-
I would call that a great price. If you had been closer and sooner, I would have bought your GT. I gave $2,000 for a 2012 DT 300i, that was less than perfect, with 3,200 miles. I hate the "hump" in the foot area, as I have hip problems, but as they say, hind sight is 20/20. Guess I'll have to live with what I've got. I'd say your price is spot on.

SOLD my scooter for the $2500.00 asking price.
-
Yes I bought it, thanks Mike. This scooter is so clean and well maintained. Looking forward to teaching my wife how to ride

Heck Poppajim, glad someone nabbed it at that price. If he hadn't been all the way 'cross the country I'd've done it.
