Title: Seat removal
Post by: docjones on June 25, 2010, 07:35:20 PM
I want to take my seat along with the tub underneath off to examine all the lines in and out of the carb. I've read many different accounts of this from the one phillips screw under hinge and the two bolts next to the trunk latch to all six nut and bolts under the seat. Any one know the easiest or proper way to do it.

4 10mm bolts and 1 phillips screw. I just had mine off to wire in a brake moduator. The seat bucket is larger than the opening. You have to gently seperate the plastic panels to get it all of the way out.

Thanks all. It was the last answer inthis post. 4 bolts and 1 phillips head screw. It took some effort to pull it out and somemore to reinstall it but now I know how it is done.

Yeah -- removing the seat from the bucket doesn't get you a whole lot.  ;)

At the shop, we have a set of t-handled wrenches for removing seat buckets. They're about 16" long, and perfect for the job. Harbor Freight probably carries them (as the shop owner is a HF junkie).
