After my failed attempt to test ride the BMW C Evolution electric scoot I ran over to Long Beach for a scooter group meet up and ride. We met in the parking lot of In N Out and started with 16 scoots but quickly lost one due to the engine cutting out. We took a leisurely cruise around the beach areas and ended at a lunch spot.

Great outing and great pictures! Long Beach is NOT the same! Visited in the early 90s and could not beleive the difference! LB used to be where you stuck the tube......! Stig is right! Count down has started!

Very nice pictures. I would have loved to been along. Concerning CA: I would like to see them continue the wall around CA. For decades there have been crazy ideas coming from there and whats happening now is over the line. There are lots a fine upstanding folks there, but their leaders haven't got a clue.

I was working this weekend, otherwise I would have joined the ride. I have never seen that Grand Vista in the group before. Nice turn out.

Haven't been back to Long Beach since 69. What has changed there? Kinda assuming traffic and housing. Used to hang out at the "Pike", that seedy place at the boardwalk that only sailers back then got tattoo's and gals looking for a date. Me, just a nerd wearing wing tip shoes, button up shirts, cuffed pants and riding a Yamaha 250 Catalina. Quite the odd ball and picture of quasi innocence....ya know...Simon and Garfunkel and Scarborough Fair.

It belongs to Stu who is a member on here I met a little while back as he was asking about a problem he had with it recently. He is the one who told me about the group ride and I've since signed up for two groups for future meets (Long Beach and LA scooter groups).

I'm sure most things, some are gone, others have been added. It still has some of the same feel from the late 70's when I can recall first being through the area.

Yup, that's my GV 250! I think we should appropriate the old Honda motto: "You meet the nicest people on a...scooter." The ride was great!
Thanks go to John, for leadership; thanks to Mike, for the great pix.
I am now down sizing from full sized motorcycles to scooters. I never knew being shiftless could be so much fun.
