Title: KYMCO Like motor scooter braking system
Post by: Motorfoon on September 22, 2017, 04:09:19 PM
Hi All,

Im looking for information on the KYMCO Like motor scooter braking system, the 200i is my focus at the moment.

The   KYMCO Like 200i motor scooter braking system is based on a single front and rear disc brake rotor with a 2 pot caliper.

Is the braking system a  KYMCO in house design or an OEM off the shelf product ?

Can't provide the focus you want in some regards, but the system on my Kymco S200 was bolt for bolt the same as the setup my my (similar vintage & a bit heavier) SYM HD200.
Looked like the same setup on some of the big wheel Chinese scoots I've seen, & I know the pad's pretty common as well.

I suspect most of the setups on these share common components so, with a few parts being an exception for the individual bike.
Just makes sense from a cost control setup.

The calipers have "KYMCO" embossed on them.
My Forza and Piaggio have Nissin embossed on the calipers.
The LIKE200I has amazingly powerful stoppers!
