The U.S.A. has one motorcycle per every 35.7 people. The leading State is Montana, with a motorcycle for every 5.2 people.
(No, California is way down that list.)

Here's a different list I found:
http://blog.motorcycle.com/2014/02/18/motorcycle-news/50-states-ranked-highest-motorcycle-ownership-per-capita/ (http://blog.motorcycle.com/2014/02/18/motorcycle-news/50-states-ranked-highest-motorcycle-ownership-per-capita/)
It has South Dakota at the top though, at 1 per 12 people.

Hypo's list shows the deep south (TN, AL AR) one bike per 38 folks. We each have one in this house and I actually ride mine once in a while!

My household has 0.5 bikes per person... :)
