Title: Dumb squirrel - almost an OFF
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on July 01, 2018, 01:54:54 PM
Riding into my coffee village today at the posted 25mph I came upon a young squirrel in my lane who refused to move.
As I  counter balanced (or whatever) around him I could see that he was just dumb, not 'sleeping'.
I knew that there was a big dump truck following me 100 yards back.
That truck is going to make a book-mark outta him!
So, I hit the brakes and did an almost too fast U-ie - nearly dumping the LIKE200iLX with 14gm Dr P sliders!

The truck swerved, and we both survived. The driver was laughing as he passed.
Junior was put on the Morning Report.

Would there have been any harm to you if you ran it over?

My only injury from riding a scooter was overbraking for a squirrel on a wet road. The result was the last quarter of my radius being shattered/impacted, which I found out almost two weeks later after finally getting it checked out, the general practitioner grudgingly x-raying it.

Well, yes actually.
Over the past 5 years this village has made me an honorary citizen - and we try hard to practice....
