Title: Bent key
Post by: Vietkieutie on August 02, 2018, 02:08:43 AM
I bent one of the two keys the scooter comes with, after trying to get used to it. Of course, you can’t open the under seat compartment when the key isn’t straight. Should I simply bring it to a keymaker and have them bend it back straight, send it back to Kymco, or is there a home remedy I can apply?

If it does not have a crack at the bend, and the bend is at 45 degrees or less I would use a butane lighter to heat up that bend, put the key on a flat surface, and give it a quick bang with a hammer.

I did the same with one of mine, I kinda twisted it opening my seat.  Took it to the local hardware store and the guy had it fixed in minutes, for something like $2.

I'd look on ebay, or do web search (for purchasibg from China, or Hong Kong ) for key blanks. ...have local key shop or hardware store cut you a couple new keys. I did this for my Kymco, Honda and Suzuki scooters....less than $20 for 2, all in.
