Title: Little loss of throttle response

Hello guys. Losing a little snap take off on the low end. Hard to explain but it does not seem to have that "throw you back torque on take off like she did before.
I am almost due for a 5k service. I was thinking about changing the fuel filter this time as it is really black like a lump of charcoal.
Variator Rollers may be done and dusted perhaps? They've never ever been changed in the 6 yrs I've had my scoot.
What are your thoughts? 50k on the odo.

Could be a little wear on the CVT stuff. New rollers are cheap, cleaning costs only your sweat and a new belt could not hurt (unless it is recently replaced).

Hello Crossbolt.
I came to the same conclusion. Thanks very much for your help. I've ordered CVT clutch shoes and all springs to see if she comes back to low end life. Also have 14gram 20×12 rollers and a new belt to try as well. Full service of the CVT

That new belt is a Kymco genuine part, right?

Anything I can do to spoil yer day! Well, maybe that's it and maybe it isn't. But what I have seen on here the consensus is the Kymco belts (Mitsuboshi) are the best.

Well I have heard that Malossi will eat anything that isn't Malossi....lol. I've see lots of horror stories in that regard.

Crossbolt, other than belt what else do you recommend replacing with my hours/miles? Rollers? Springs? Entire Variator?

Only stuff that is worn badly or beyond limits (if known) the obvious stuff. I ran rollers with flat spots in the original DT and they worked fine. The flat spots indicate less weight probably too small to make a difference. I am probably not the one to ask because I have not worn anything out yet! Well, did have to replace a belt because the air inlet was blocked by mouse-hoarding birdseed causing the CVT to overheat. New Kymco belt fixed her up!

Commenced a full service today. Check this out. Lots of play in the belt. Probably the issue right here!

Might be a good idea to check to see if the throttle cable has stretched.

The video reveals the front pulley assembled incorrectly in that the two sides of the pulley not as close together as they should be OR incorrect belt (too long).

Thanks guys. Probably too long belt. Over stretched Malossi belt. 3yrs old. I have a new OEM belt to install.

I've never replaced a variator or clutch - I find that rollers, the roller bushes and belts are all that need doing most of the time. Rollers and bushes will probably be all you need to get that "snap" back.

Hello Viper. Thanks. I am changing the belt. Rollers were changed last service and still look pretty good. Going to scuff the rear clutch shoes and give everything a good blow clean with the air compressor. Should be good after that. ;)

New belt, 14g rollers, scuffed back clutch shoes, changed oil and plug, cleaned air filter.
Took her for a test ride and running like new.
