When do you all change your front tire? Mine is still good at 25000km but it is looking a little chewed up. :)
-
I usually go by the "wear indicators" in the tire grooves. But if I buy a used bike which has what I believe to be very old tires (as indicated by cracking or a very old date code) I'll change it - even if there is a lot of tread left (especially a front tire).
-
Yeah I am still good for another year with the thread but it just looks really beat up with alot of cracks etc.
-
cracks = BAD

You STILL have the Maxxis on the front?! You won't believe how BEAUTIFUL it handles when you replace that!
-
I understand that C$ is tight - but the front wheel should be something you could remove - or a shop for very little extra labor $.
Have them pop a new front tire on and be good for years.
You ride at speed - I recon that front tire is more important to your safety than is the rear, if it should fail you on a straight.

Yup it is still the same one! I got the garage to order me a good quality tire. I am very happy to hear what you say! :)

If you are not DELERIOUSLY impressed with how WONDERFUL your DT300i handles after the new tire in on, I will personally send you my backside to kick!

Ha Ha Ha OK! I will let you know! It maybe a couple of months yet. Have to wait for our winter to fade out more.

I usually get 25-30000 km from front tire on scooter-----but I run this distance in maybe half a year, so tire shows no sign of age, just wear-----check age of your front tire and it probably should be replaced.
-
Don't go just by the milage. You should also change them after 5 years regardless of millage.

When I was couriering, which is really hard on the bike; stop, start, stop, start; I was still getting 15,000 miles to a front tyre.
I think you will really feel the difference though. You've certainly done well with that Maxxis...
