Does anyone have a source for cheap 3/16" shut-offs. My 49cc Kymcos (as well as other small displacement scoots and nopeds) use 3/16" fuel line and the cheap shut-offs (those black and red plastic jobs) only seem to be available in 1/4". I have the metal motion pro valve on one scoot but I'd rather not spend $12 or $13 on every junk scooter I drag home.

Why not use the excellent Kymco vacuum shutoffs? They're a trouble-free no-brainer. Just a simple press-fit into the tank outlet and you're done.

Because the vacuum shut-off on my previous Kymco failed. I frequently park my scooter in my basement so I like the addtional safeguard of a manual valve. Gas smell in the garage is one thing. But gas smell in the basment ends up throughout the house in a forced air heating system. Kind of a fire hazard too I guess. So while it sounds excessive, and it may be, that's my reason.

Trouble-free no-brainer? Vacuum vent valves have given me something to do with my time starting over 10 years ago with a Genuine Buddy 150 and a Yager 200i ! Then went to the Downtown. Now fuel shut-offs have not been a problem for this rider but I understand the simplicity and nearly bullet-proof idea of a manual valve and applaud anyone who embraces them. Too much automatic these days....
