I can't seem to find a stock filter for my bike which I want to get. I wonder if the KandN will do the job. I don't care about difference performance I do like the idea of saving dollars with this filter as one can wash it. Any suggestions please.

De dee is the man to talk to on this....

I used K&N filters as well as similar type filters on different motorcycles and was quite happy with them. Compared to paper type filters, I don't think K&N type filters will be any better though.
Specially the "racing" K&N type filters with a claimed "30 %" (or whatever percentage) "better" air flow, might be a bit risky.
I think any filter who allows "easier" air flow, will also allow more dust into an engine. (I.e. - a filter which allows a 30% better air flow into the engine, will probably allow about 30% more dust into the engine as well).
A thin layer of grease get smeared at the inside of all my vehicle's air filter box housings - including at the inside of my scooter's air box. In my scooter's case (Agility 125), all dust get trapped in the grease - and dust or dirt doesn't even reach the modified filter I made as replacement for the original filter.
I wouldn't be worried about a K&N filter - specially if the inside of the filter box, as well as the inner sides of the inlet pipe to the filter box get covered with a thin layer of grease as well.

Missed this: HiFlo Filtro HF-566 motorcycle superstore and elsewhere. Dealer wants 20 bucks US for the same thing which is 3 to 6 bucks US.

DeDee recommends so I went ahead and ordered one. I hope it works out OK.

I guess I thought you were talking about an air filter! HF-566 will be an EXACT replacement oil filter. No worry, just be happy! I make my own air filters. Dealer wants over 20 bucks for those, too and they ain't worth it. I gotta post a picture of one of my homemade air filters....

Yes Karl it is an air-filter I am after. Easy to get the oil filters. Air is what I need and they are $45 plus takes plus shipping so when I am done I am close to 100 bucks for this. I went ahead and ordered the life time K&N air-filter for 67$ plus taxes which came to about $80 and this is good for lifetime.

That should be a good one. 45 bucks for a paper air filter is insane!

Yeah, and you know that little hook we have just above the gas tank to hold a bag will cost me 22$ plus shipping so that would be well over 40$! and that oil filter cap will be 25$ plus shipping taxes etc. YES INSANE! RIP OFF!
