Post by: Magoconnor on March 24, 2020, 09:44:52 PM
Hello.
Have any of you guys experience with some gear up kits out there.
If so, maybe you could share some of your results.

Im thinking about pulling the trigger on these babies : https://www.scooter-attack.com/stage6-primary-gearing-17-51-s6-2013901p-39.html (https://www.scooter-attack.com/stage6-primary-gearing-17-51-s6-2013901p-39.html)

My setup:
Naraku 90cc kit
24mm carb
unlimited cdi
Naraku cvt
And a ton of other stuff.

Cheers

AylmerFreerider on this forum has some gearing information although it's for a different Kymco 50cc I believe.

I guess the questions is what is your current gear ratio in the back.

I was able to get the extra 5-8 km/h by reducing the large gear by 1 tooth. Note that local laws here say I can do 70km/h and mine will do 75 on the flat with a tail wind.

I figured used this site to figure out what different gear ratios would give me.  I had to have play with the RPMs to match the speed to what I getting with current set up then I could adjust the ratios from there to get a picture.

Hope it helps

Hi, I don't have any experience with that specific gear or the gy6 engine but I do have longer gears in my old 2 stroke.
If you have the power( and considering you have a BBK you do) the longer gears will make everything more enjoyable as your rpm's when cruising will be much lower and it will take some strain off the engine.
You might need to change your rollers and clutch springs until you are happy with the new setup.
Cheers
