Hello,
I have the 2013 500i abs and took the front cover off to paint.
In haste I unplugged the turn signals and headlight thinking that theyd be easy to find once I reassemble.
I see where the headlights plug in but the turn signal plugs on the turn signals themselves (2 on left and 2 on right) are strangely missing.
Where do the signal cables for the front get plugged into?

I've been there before. Here is all the info you need.

Betcha the "winker" lights are somewhere aft of the snout you took off....

I was thinking the same. Figured I was to new to say it though.

No, sir! The accuracy of experience and right information pre-empts seniority. Even a guess, like mine preempts misinformation.
Forgetting how things came apart really challenges reassembly. Happens to everyone. That's why Stig constantly encourages us to take pictures during disassembly. The only cricial thing that I am aware is a chamfer on the ID of a hardened washer in the variator. First, it is a very hard steek washer ground to a particular thickness and second, the chamfer goes toward the radius on the crank extension that mounts the front halves of the variator. That chamfer is crucial.
Everything else is pretty ho-hum.
-
The washer is not in the variator. That was to communicate the idea of the spacer. I have discs made from the same metal as the drive boss machined to the same OD for a seamless fit.
-
No, not your project. There is a hard washer in the DT300i variator that has a chamfer. May exist in some of the others unfamiliar to me. Don't know about yours. I should have mentioned that!

Sorry misunderstanding on my part.

Turns out everyone here who responded was wrong. Those 2 pigtails dont go to anything as far as I can tell. Brakes, headlights, blinkers, all work without it. Now what those two pigtails are could be anyone's guess. Thanks for trying.

I am unfamiliar with the 500i, however, I would assume that if you pulled a plug off of the turn signal, then the aforementioned plug should still exist, and in addition to existing, should indeed return to the signal from whence it came.
I may be completely wrong though.

I assumed you unplugged them upon cowl removal. Proves "assume." Har, har!
