I don't know how to research this - so I'll ask here.
Where is your Kymco assembled?
I'm thinking that older mid-to-big models and most new/big Kymcos are made in Taiwan.
My Like200i is manufactured assembled in China.
Stig
my: Piaggio Liberty was made in Vietnam; Burgman 400 Japan; Honda NSS Forza300 Thailand; son's Honda CBX500 Thailand & Yamaha R9 Japan
HONDA CEO gave a funny reply to this question , "Assembled in Thailand - not manufactured there!"
I guess Kymco CEO would say the same, "Assembled in China, manufactured in Taiwan."
-
Both my Super 8 150 and Like 150i were manufactured in China.
-
The vin code tells if it's China or Taiwan, China LA-LO and Taiwan RF-RK for country of orgin.
Looked at the Vin on all my Kymco's and all start with (RF) as country of orgin.
-
My Agility’s (2009 model) number starts with LC. I guess it came from China then.
I actually thought only later year models would come from China but it looks like assembling in China started quite some time ago ?
I really can’t complain about quality.
-
All the Agility models are made in China. I have a Vitality 50, which was made in Taiwan. It's a great scooter, but was very expensive when Kymco brought it to the US. They retailed for about what a Honda or Yamaha did.

"RF" on my DT300i.

LC on my Agility City 125

LC on my 2016 Kymco Agility for the US market.

assembled ? I would assume at my dealer, it came in a crate that was too small to fit an assembled motorcycle. carb probably came from country x, the engine from country d, wheels from country z, tires from country b, some assembly in country Q, but final assembly right at the dealer

What does your VIN start with.
That is the country in which your Kymco was manufactured....on their assembly floor.
Dealer does the PDI.
Your scoot was shipped from...
Taiwan, China...where?

Xciting 400i had a Taiwan decal attached.
-
2010 People S200, RF=Taiwan, baby!
-
RF on my 2018 400i Xciting
-
My XTown 300i VIN begins "LC", so China I guess?
-
My 2013 Xciting 500 starts with RF
-
LC on my 2016 K-pipe

My Sento 50 said "Kymco Taiwan" on a decal up front. but is was actually an "LC" with a totally-Chinese GY6 engine. OTOH, my very similar Sento 100, with the 99cc Kawasaki KFX 90 motor is 100% Taiwan. This Taiwan motor doesn't appear in any other Kymco model (but it does appear in Kawasaki ATVs).

Interesting - a Sento with a Chinese VIN, and another with a Taiwanese VIN?
Over the years - I noticed my dealer had removed the peel-off Made in China sticker form his LIKE200i's. Or maybe it was removed elsewhere.

LOL! I asked my local dealer if the Sento 50s were made in China (yes they are), but he didn't want to talk about it. The sticker on the front said "Kymco Taiwan", but the SD10 engine is Chinese! The Sento 100 has a Taiwan engine.
