Fiddling with laces when I'll be riding in a warm sunrise - is NOT something I like to do. (I have high & heavy work boots - just won't wear them!)
So, I too often slip on a pair of sneakers....which are about as safe in an "off" as flip-flops.
I'm "geared" from head down to my ankles - then I may as well be naked 'there on down to the pavement!
Today I went shopping for proper riding attire for my feet.
OK, "time for the senior citizen shoes with velcro closures"! (just saying that out loud is painful to the ego - what little remains for a scooter rider :)
Maybe have found something else here, in these ICON boots..... They even have the D30 armor in them.
I like Revzilla because of their no-hassle free returns policy. (and, no my local dealer doesn't stock these)
I'm going to try a pair of these which have this BOA system for the closure.
Always choosing "visible" vs stealth riding - I picked the grey pair.

here's Anthony (love this guy) talking about the BOA system on a different ICON boot.......

Will give a full report on the boots (and my new Bull-it SR6 pants which are coming soon).
With the LIKE200i and the Liberty150i purring along, year in and year out.....spending $ on my gear.

those look comfortable! I like the toe, heel and ankle protection, along with a stiff sole. That's the recipe for safe feet. I'm actually surprised you were wearing sneakers all this time?? Bad Stig...bad Stig...
I miss Anthony's product reviews. He was the best at it. He was actually one of (or THE?) original founders of Revzilla. He is still with them in a higher up, more Corporate role with them and the company that acquired / bought / merged with REvzilla.
Still miss his product reviews.

Well, not always in the sneakers.....maybe 30% of the rides....but never should have been wearing them.
Yeah, was hoping Anthony went up - not out!

They look to be a good Boot choice Stig. I swear by my AltBerg boots for their all day comfort plus protection, but they are a pain to lace up so I fully appreciate why you’ve gone for a more technical closure system!
Always, always wear good protection on feet and hands! Oh and head and... well, everywhere! Seriously, trainers should never feature in one’s riding apparel, even for 20 mph dawn patrols. 😜

Put my old lacey boots on for this morning's ride for coffee.

One of my street buds caught me taking pix of my feet. Gave me a thumb's up....which made me shoot coffee onto my favorite Parrot shirt!
Size 14W, FrogTog rain pants over Slider Kevlar jeans. It was 39°F on the ride out.
