Title: Yesterday cut the lawn today covered with snow
Post by: Kansas kymco on April 20, 2021, 12:08:47 PM
Cold front came through and lowered the temperature yesterday while I was cutting the lawn. This morning a few inches of snow.

I was pouring concrete pylons for a deck Sunday afternoon and then the freeze Monday morning with snow accumulating. Good thing the concrete got hard before the falling water did.
Instructions on the bag say to avoid letting it freeze for 48 hrs so I covered with plastic and layers of sheets and more plastic to trap ground heat.

We got a couple inches of snow last night as well.   I spent the last few weekends giving a tune-up to my son's 50cc Super 8 he left at home when he went to University last summer.  2 weeks ago the scoot wouldn't even start... then I got it to idle but bog down with the slightest of throttle... now after new fuel, new spark plugs, new air filter and a valve adjustment I think it is running as good as ever.  I never really took it out before but have put about 40 miles on it the past few weeks... it has about 3400 miles on it.   It will still bog at WOT when cool but that improves as the engine warms up after a couple miles.  The temps have not really gotten out of the 60's here so I expect the Super 8 to run even better as it gets warmer... so really looking forward to this snow melting.  In another week it is supposed to make its way to 75F.

Well, it's NE Ohio, and it's April 21.  My car is now parked outside the garage since the scoot occupies a nice space inside.  My wife and I had to go to Sherwin-Williams to get some paint chips this morning, and before we could leave, I had to scrape off six, count 'em, six inches of heavy, wet snow off the car.  It's the perfect snow for making a snowman.  And to top things off, we had a watermain break at the end of the street, so we had to follow a detour to get out of our neighborhood.  Fortunately, the temp is near 40, and the asphalt and concrete surfaces were warm, so the snow has melted on the driveways and streets.

Oh, and we did get the paint chips.

Mowed the lawn today while temps were in the mid 40s F... before more snow falls overnight tonight. Well, don't know that there will be snow but it will be cold enough for it at just below 30F.
