Title: Thinking about buying 2010
Post by: Rjconway86 on June 05, 2021, 09:37:22 PM
Thinking about buying a agility for a project bike. 2010 w/  158 miles. Used one season and stored since indoors. Is there anything I should think about before buying? Oh its 900$.

Are performance parts more readily available for these older models?

Lots of performance parts, but depending on what is the basic engine core.  You have to do some research and make notes. Some Kymcos use the GY6 Chinese core and peripherals, but my Kymco shares its block with small Kawasaki ATVs.  You didn't say if your prospect is fuel injected or carbureted.

My 2011 Kymco Agility 50 had many aftermarket items for the GY6 platform which worked fine.  Parts For Scooters had a number of big bore kits from which to choose.

158 miles?  Hopefully they drained the gas out before parking it, otherwise a new stock 125cc carburetor is going to be your first  purchase.

The carburetors are easy to clean.  They can sit 10 years and still be good after a quick clean-up with carb cleaner.  But for sure you will need fresh gas in the tank!
