Title: Warranty Work (Or... if you find a good Technician, stick with them!)
Post by: Neil955i on November 11, 2021, 01:45:06 PM
OK, so a couple of months into my tenure with the X-Town it let me down with what turned out to be a catastrophic transmission failure.  Completely replaced under warranty, top marks Kymco UK.  Fast forward to last month (one month out of warranty) when I booked the scooter in for a major service.  I mentioned to Phil the Tech that the rear brake was dragging and could he please strip & grease it for me?  "No" says he, "it's a new bike, we'll get a new caliper under warranty."  "Eh?"  Says I, "but the warranty expired last month".  "Leave it with me" says Tech.

Long story short, said Tech tells Kymco UK he'd inspected the bike before the warranty expired and, as good as gold, they sprung for a brand new caliper!  As I say, if you find a good tech, stick with them!

👍👍Thumbs up for this dealer.
It's not only the money but more the approach.

Update:  Well I got the Scoot back early last week with the new caliper fitted and finally got out for a proper shakedown run yesterday just before and after dark. What an improvement. Forgot how good it feels to be able to use both brakes with no drama and total smoothness. Really enjoyed the ride to get essential groceries.

Did I take the scenic route? Err I may have!  You know how it goes.

Yeah, I do! One of us has a signature that goes, "Why ride one mile when you can ride 10?"

Yeah, I could go with that as a strapline!
