Kymco makes engines and drive trains for Kawasaki ATVs, BMW 400, Suzuki (e.g. Burgman), and even Polaris. My Kymco 100 engine appears in the Kawasaki KFX90. The source for all these engines is Kymco.

Kymco doesn't build for Suzuki or Polaris. (Unless they come to an agreement within the past 4 years.) The Kaw. Brute force 300, KFX 50 & 90 ATV's are essentially Kymco MXU270/300, Mongoose 50 & 90's under the Kaw designed plastic. They also have a few mod's Kaw requested. The BMW 650 Scooters do use a BMW designed motor and drive which is built in Taiwan, along with the GS650 motor. Never heard of a 400 built by Kymco. There are others they do business with, Arctic Cat, Tracker, etc.

yeah, I think my valve/head cover gasket also says Artic Cat on the package...does that mean Arctic Cat made a 163cc snowmobile (snow machine for our Alaskan and Canadian friends)?? Seems kind of small..

LOL! There's no end to chasing parts for ATV's and scooters. Here's another one: the engine in the Arctic Cat 300 DVX is stamped "Kymco". And recently purchased Kawasaki clutch parts arrived marked "Kymco". Kymco is everywhere!

Kymco makes all of Kawasaki's scooters, and, as was pointed out, most of their small ATVs. Kymco also makes a lot of their midsize engines, and 250cc based engines for Arctic Cat. Kymco also makes the engines for that 4 wheel thing from Switzerland, the Quaddro. TGB makes Morini motors for the Suzuki 50cc scooters and the 400cc Morini motor used in a lot of ATVS, including the Arctic Cat. The version made in China is the one used in the K429 Burgman until 2006. The Kymco 400 is basically the same motor as the Kymco 500 with a smaller diameter cylinder. You can usually tell by the size of the rollers who made the engine. Kymco is now providing most of the variators and clutches to Yamaha, in addition to Honda. Kymco also makes a lot of parts for PGO, and they both make the GY6 engine Kymco (not Honda) invented. PGO also makes a 250cc engine that is identical to the Kymco 250. The BMW 400 Scooter is built by a company called Voge, out of China and has nothing to do with Kymco.
