I installed the JCosta IT619PRO variator. Everything is nice, the scooter works great on it but ..
when I lightly add gas, 8.5k rpm comes in and only gives back the speed as it is impossible to drive for me, I already thought that the grease came out of the corrector and something slips but not, everything is clean and the revs are flying like stupid ..
On the standard variator it was somehow better balanced here, a massacre. I don't know why the revolutions should be lower than on the standard.
It turns out that the skates are a bit too light. Now the question is, did anyone have a similar problem? Maybe someone will suggest the mass of rolls? It is quite a bit of a cost, because PLN 160 a set, but I have already spent so much that I would like it to happen somehow. Start 0.5g heavier or what?

You need to know what your stock rollers weigh, and how much lighter the new ones are. It varies depending on application, but in my GTI300, I went 1 gram lighter for a little more acceleration, and it worked out great. Sounds like your new variator has much lighter rollers than stock.

8500 rpm when you slightly twist the throttle? Sounds like clutch springs are too stiff on the "skates" (clutch shoes). Weigh the rollers, too. Probably very light....

Or...as a very slight possibility...the rollers aren't moving? I'd check to see that they are able to roll up the variator.

Fellows, a J Costa doesn't have rollers...it has pins. It is a very expesnive alternative to the stock Kymco CVT set-up with roller weights.

Several videos on youtube shows both how the J Costa works and how the pins wear the holes! Flat spots on rollers and sliders that flip seems minor since rollers and sliders are fairly cheap to replace. The main machined part on the J Costa wears out....!
