Hello there! I have a newly purchased 2022 Super 8 150X. I want to install the Shad brake light with my top case.
However, I am having trouble finding instructions on tying into the existing brake light wiring.
I have been told to remove the seat, then the gas tank can be moved to access the wiring.
Does anyone know how accurate this is?
Also, if you know the wiring arrangement...ie: ground, brake, tail light... That would also be most helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Welcome to the forum.
A service manual for your model Kymco is pretty useful.
www.cyclepedia.com makes the Kymco manuals for KYMCOUSA
Wiring diagram, proper color wires to splice into, how to remove tail light. etc.

Thanks for the advice. I purchased an electronic version of a manual from Amazon.
It wasn't very helpful to be honest.
All it showed was how to change the bulb.
No wiring diagrams at all.
Is this the same book?
I attached an image to compare.
Thanks!

Yep, that's strange.
My (life-time) down-load from cyclepedia and the paper/book manual from cyclepedia both have the wiring diagram (final pages in the book)
Since you purchased from www.cyclepedia.com you should be able to open a service ticket with one of their techs and get an answer to wiring questions.

I figure that I have the right method to access the back of the tail light assembly.
Apparently, there are three wires. Green/Yellow, Green, and Brown.
From observing a pic of the assembly, I assume the solid green is ground.
I just need to figure out which one of the others is the brake light.
And the gauge of the wires to select the proper posi-tap connectors.

I don't have time right now...but I did a diy on wiring identifications of my LIKE200I tail light. You could search here.
Pretty sure our wiring is common to many Kymcos.

I'm very surprised also. The cyclopedia for my X-Town 300 is about 400 pages with wiring diagrams. I just put new LEDS in my front European turn signal locations. On my scooter, the ground was green, and the hot wire was brown. I'll bet your's is the same, and the green/yellow is the brake light

@ArjanSingh, cyclopedia is in many ways faulty.
Go there, it's for free...
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/393356/Kymco-125-Super-8.html
and find all info you need.
BTW: 99% of all KYMCOS have a similar, if not the same wiring for rear running/ stoplight.
