Title: Screwed
Post by: monkeybongos on July 04, 2023, 12:59:29 PM
The Curse of a New Tire

Of the 6 tires I'm currently using (3 bikes), 5 will need replacing later this year.
The one new tire just put on got screwed after 200 miles.  Couldn't have happened to any of the 5 old ones?

At least it didn't leak air, so I was able to plug it at home.  It'll be a good test of the plug, as the tire should be good for another 6,000 miles.

You could have just shortened the screw and put it back in with some super-glue  ;D

Over here in the UK, MB, we’d call that a perfect example of Sod’s Law, aka Murphy’s Law.

BTW I had something similar happen to my Triumph Daytona back in the day. The rear tyre had done <500 miles. Plugged it and ran it to 3,500 miles including three-figure track days having forgotten it was there!  Not a whiff of a problem.
