My 500 has 24K miles on it. Always maintained properly. I ride pretty conservatively, easy starts & such, mostly highway so not a lot of trans activity. Suppose my belt is good for another season? Maybe 5-7K at my age.

Highway speeds = belt heating.
Is that mileage extending belt life past the Kymco specs?
If so - can you think of places and situations where a snapped belt would not be much fun?
I can on my scooters - turning and clearing a busy intersection, for instance.

Pls see att maintenance schedule and notes
Even it says at 18 and 36TKM inspect and clean, I would think of changing the drivebelt.
Does not cost that much, €140,- and gives some peace of mind.
Depends who did and how inspections were done.
If you did it by yourself, and you are sure your stuff is fine, okay.

I learned the hard way not to buy cheap Chinese belts: it disintegrated at 1000 miles.

I thought the wear would mostly be from starting off & getting up to speed as the pulleys moved in and out?

I read that the 1st belt will get 10-20% more miles than subsequent belts, even if oem. Don’t remember the explanation, only that it made sense. My limited experience backs it up.

Guess I'll pony up for a new one then. I better order it now as you never know how long before it shows up. Are there other pieces that should automatically get replaced at the same time with 24K miles? Rollers or whatever?
-
Rollers and airfilter in hand wouldn't be a bad idea.
