Title: Lower windscreen for S150
Post by: Macswinford on June 21, 2024, 06:58:21 PM
My 2022 People S150 came with a tall windscreen. It's hot out and I want to get some air.   I'm looking for a lower windscreen to fit the stock brackets. I've had no luck finding one. Where can I find one.

Ebay
There is a company called WRS out of Italy selling them, but shipping is as much as the shield.
Clear version and smoke.  It fits the current s 150's well but you must already have the windshield brackets  and you'll want some rubber washers (what i did) or grommets to mount.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm 5' 10" though and can see right through mine. The visibility is very good, and it protects me pretty well. Living in the cooler Central New York climate that is very important. I think I'll leave it alone. Check You Tube. There is a very good video on cutting down the People S windshield. If you take your time, It look like a pretty easy job. Make sure you know exactly what height you want. Measure twice and cut once. Good luck and let us know the results.

That old Carpenter's adage!
I once worked with a real character:
Looking up from the table saw where I had the crew cutting some very expensive redwood lumber, " Hey Stupidvisor! We cut it twice, and it's still too short!"

He wasn't worth a dime after he drank his lunch.

"Character"?  This side of the pond the adjective would be D!ckHead!

Well It's now late August, and I've changed my mind. I was able to purchase the Kymco  plastic factory hand guards from ALiExpress for under $30. They are great at keeping my hands out of the wind. After much debate, I decided to cut down the factory windscreen 5". I'm 5' 10" and the wind now buffers just over the top of my helmet. The wet weather visibility is greatly improved as I can now see over the top of the windshield. I also picked up several MPH on the top end. Haven't verified with my GPS yet, but the Kymco speedometer is showing 66MPH.

I know I must be wrong - because I discard any screen larger than fly-screen or 'sport screen' size. Yet the Europeans ride around on big wheel scooters with tall screens - and it rains a lot in Europe!

I really like riding in the countryside in dark and rain - but for me it is enough of an adventure to ride at night in heavy rains - without the added issue of looking through a wet screen.
Fog and mist can be nearly as bad as a heavy rain. I'm wiping my face shield every 15 seconds - and wonder what I'd do if I had a tall screen and it was becoming impossible.

"One-cutting" screens - an adventure in guesswork. Get it wrong - you can't put it back! :) Not that the cutter hasn't already thought of that.

Your black checks!....are they reflective at night?

The windshield looks good! I am keeping my tall version around though. I live in Michigan and I may look silly with it but at least I can comfortably ride occassionaly during the winter.

66 mph is 4 more than i see, at least on a straightaway, and that is with a windshield similar in height to what you have.

I also run a full synthetic oil, have a iridium spark plug, and have replaced the stock 13gr rollers with 11.5 gr Dr Pulley sliders. I'm 5' 10" and weigh about 210. The scooter accelerates quickly and smoothly. I'll get a verified top speed with my GPS and post it. It definitely picked up MPH on the stock speedometer though.

P S Did you see my post about the Kymco plastic hand protectors. They're only about $30.00 and really keep your hands warmer. You can purchase them from this site.
