Title: out and back before sunrise
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on October 23, 2024, 03:28:11 PM
It was not blue/black dark. Just dark.
I found a way to avoid riding in the blinding / rising sun.
Ride out earlier!
 - I was home at 7:50AM, 5 mins before sunrise.

British summertime* ends on Sunday so we get a few weeks of lighter mornings here. Do they mess with the clocks over there Stig?

*My Triumph’s clock is on permanent BST (GMT +1 hr) as it’s way too much trouble to change it for the 2 or 3 winter rides I manage on it!

Neil, yes, most of the states in the US change their clocks back an hour in Fall and ahead 1 hour in Spring. Our time change is coming up in a week from Sunday.

Yep, it goes something like "spring back, fall ahead"....or "fall ahead & spring back"
Never can remember which.
I think it is to get some light on the kids waiting for their school bus...

Right now sunrise is at 08:00......which puts it right at the time I'm trying to ride into for a major portion of my getting home!
I hate it!
I do all I can to be visible - but that sun over-rides it all!
S'why I much prefer cloudy mornings.

And the deer in the tree shadows of a rising sun have been an adventure!
