I'm under the impression that a weak battery in an EFI equipped scooter will reveal itself by a "no start".
Not a slow course of hard to starts - but a no-start!
Yes?
And to prevent surprises on cold days, miles from home - I like to replace the stock batteries every 3 or 4 years, and one with more Ah's.
Today I ordered another 14Ah YUASA to replace the 5 yr old - (stock LIKE200i's are fitted with 8Ah & 9Ah batteries)
The YUASA fitment guide gives the dimensions of the batteries - to ensure I buy the correct physical size.
Servicing a LIKE200i is easy: 3 screws on the battery cover, located beneath your feet!

I wish.
the AK550 ain't so easy, first, remove the windshield, then the mount, then take the front plastic off, before you see the battery cover, after you take the cover off and disconnect the terminals, you have to fabricate a plastic handle you can screw to the terminals to lift it out.

My X-Town battery was relatively easy to access at the back of the seat bin although I never needed to. The current DTX however sounds similar to your AK550 Randy. Not looking forward to the day arriving when I need to swap it out...

The AK 550 is a pain in the butt to replace....

I have the most powerful gel battery in my 500 that will physically fit. 500s seem to be really iffy starters without a really good battery, especially at 50 degrees or below. So I took the advise of a forum member & hard wired in a 2nd battery, also of big power. Now it starts like a champ, ALWAYS.

I had the dealer add an SAE pigtail before I even picked it up, but I think I'm gonna add remote terminals heavy enough gauge to allow jump starting

how would that look? Additional set of battery cable coming from the battery?

That 500 developed the reputation of being Kymco's most problematic scooter!
There was a long running youtube by a guy, think in Australia., that could not get his 500 started if the temp dipped much below 50°F.
He tried everything...and Kymco couldn't help him.
If only someone had thought to go to the bizarre route of two batteries!
