Title: Tire comparison

I'm ready to pull the trigger and replace the tires on my '23 People S 150i. It currently has the stock Kendra tires (only 1100 miles). From everything I've read the Michelin City Grip 2 tires are the best to get. I'm 81 years old and want the best handling and wet weather tire available. Are the City Grip 2's the answer?

People take either Pirelli Angels or Michelin City Grip II, best deal for grip, endurance and money.

2 different scooters.

being a touch superstitious - I like the idea of Angels under me!
Plus the tire is Italian and my Piaggio is Italian.
(no wait! - the Angels are from Yugoslavia, and the scoot is from Vietnam.

Mike, I'm sure either would be an excellent choice, but my preference based on previous scooter experience is the Mich CG2s.  I have Pirellis (Diablo Rosso*) on my Triumph and they're excellent, just that I've never tried that marque on a scooter.

* Stig, if you go for Angels through superstition, then I'm OK with Red Devils as they're an ace Royal Air Force display team!

Michelin CityGrip wil be a very good  choice but I’ve actually bought an extra set of rims for my Agility, as well as as a set of dual purpose  /“knobbies” for exploring backroads in our area.

I did some reading elsewhere and someone has mentioned that the dual purpuse tires at one of his two Agilities offers a better grip on all road conditions.

The tires on my Agility were still in almost new condition and it would be total sin just to replace it. Therefore I decided to buy the extra rims. The knobbies still need to be mounted.

I am not bothered that much about mileage on tires any longer. If the knobbies do not last I can still put the original rims and tires back in place. In the meanwhile I should be able to discover the scenery at the backroads with confidence.

that's a great idea, Scooterfan! I don't think I've ever read about anyone having separate wheels and tires to swap onto their scooter. When you get the knobbies on you'll have to post a pic.

I acrually have an extra set of rims and tires for the Silverwing as well.
Difficult to explain but just the idea of having a possible tire problem and having to wait a couple of days to get the problem sorted at a shop makes me feel a bit "closterphobic". It might sound weird but it is what it is.

I will forward some photos in the nearby future.
