I just received a message from Bob Hedstrom of Scooterville, Minneapolis, MN that the GT 300i is now in his shop and that Dave Harrington of www.justgottascoot.com (http://www.justgottascoot.com) is doing a review that will be posted shortly. Hopefully one will find its way into my garage.

Looking forward to the review.
I too, have my eye on the People GT 300i.
Wonder what the delay is on the review?.
New member.
Hi to all.

I'm pretty sure it'll be my next-next scooter. Still gonna try and get another original P250 once mine dies, then I'll be looking for a gently used GT300i.

Wonder why the review on the People GT300i is taking so long?.
Reckon they can`t get it started?.

Review of the Kymco People GTi 300
September, 2011
Before I launch into this review, I'd like to be very upfront and let you know that I'm a fan of the Kymco People line of scooters. As the owner of a 2005 Kymco People 250 since new, I have experienced first-hand the practicality, reliability and fun of this type of powered two-wheeled conveyance. Specifically, I have seen the build quality of the Kymco People first-hand. Several decades of riding just about everything has taught me that a 250cc (or slightly larger), big wheel, shortish wheelbase high quality scooter is nearly PERFECT for a commuter vehicle. Now that the Kymco People GTi300 is available in the USA, I just had to jump right in and check out what could be the perfect commuter scooter..........

For the in depth review of the 300GTi.
Your observations are on par with what I was expecting.
I also agree that the retail price is too much. $4800. would be good for a scoot that is struggling for name recognition.
People in my area are familiar with the big three, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Honda.
Then comes Piaggio, Aprilia, Vespa, not as familiar.
When I mention Sym, Kymco, Genuine, etc, most are not familiar with these at all.
I`m sure this will be a concern when it comes time to sell the lesser known scoots.
IMHO, if Kymco is smart enough to get scoots like the Downtown and GT300i in the hands of new owners, combined with good dealer support, Kymco will end up with a bigger piece of the PIE!.
Yes, it has 28+ hp and is a 300. But a single disc up front is a concern considering weight and power.
Good pads, a bleed, and a steel braided line might be in order.
As for lag time, some variator tweaking might be in order after warranty runs out.
Even with its shortcomings, I plan to visit my local dealer soon to see if they have one on the show room floor so customers can fondle it.
I rode the Piaggio BV 250 and the Aprilia Sportcity 250 last summer.
If the Kymco People GTi300 out performs these motorscooters, then it would have to be super fine.
Probably the best combination of power to weight ratio.
The thing i`m missing is a real seat of the pants experience.

I stopped at my Kymco dealer yesterday and they had a GT 200i. Not bad...but they had a 2010 black people S250 marked down because it is being replaced. It has dual front disc. Any way I brought it home with me. It runs good and has plenty of power for me.

seen david's review also heard from scooter kitty....the positives on this i believe far outweigh the negatives (no wind screen , very limited storage....difficulty getting accessories from kymco etc.....priced below my 300dt a few hundred i believe but weighing at least 50 lbs less....and it comes in black....

Scooterdude, we hope you like your new scoot and hope it gives you good long term dependability.
Enjoy, ride safe and live to ride another day.

if you were looking to ride the on Bob brought in... you are too late. Dave bought it.
I like this scooter a lot. So much, in fact, that I traded in my venerable 2005 People 250 and bought this one.

They've got a black 300 over there now. And a silver 200. And a black 250...
