I was wondering if anyone has purchased a Kymco during their promotion of a New Kymco 49cc Scooter and get $50 gift card or a New Kymco 125cc or larger and get a free $100 Kymco Visa Prepaid Gas Card! This promotion has been going on since at least June and maybe longer. At the end of each month they extend it to the end of the next month. It's been extended to the end of September, according to their web site.
The reason I'm asking is that I purchased mine on July 30th and as yet haven't heard a thing from "Kymco"!
If someone did get the "Gift Card" I would appreciate knowing the time element it took to receive it.
Thanks alot!

I just purchased a 2010 Kymco people S 250. They told me it would be 6 to 8 weeks for the gift card to get to me.
-
It took me about 6 weeks to get my $100 card. It isn't a gas card, it's actually a Kymco Visa card that you can use anywhere. Oddly enough - to use it to get gas you have to go inside to the attendant with it. I used my to buy groceries and used the exact $100 rather than using it for gas and tracking how much was left.
-
i purchased a new dt 300 last week of august and am still waiting...contacted the dealer and said i should get in the next 2-3 weeks......
-
Mine took awhile to come.. But I did get it..
-
I bought my Yager during the first week of this June. Does anyone know when it started?

I got my scooter the end of July and I had seen the promotion on the Kymco website so I asked the dealer about getting it.
He said he didn't know they were still doing it, but he would check and found out it was still going on. So it seems
the promo was on before July. Worth checking into. Thanks for all the replys...

Sideshow, I think April still comes in front of June. The dealer never mentioned this to me, so I guess I'll be on the phone Monday.
Thank You,

richard.....you can check with kymco usa.....but you should be good.....the original promo went through july 31 but was extended...i would definately check it out....robo
-
The dealer is checking but he was unaware. I'll let you know.
-
i believe you would be eligible regardless of whether or not your dealer is participating.....hard to believe he is unaware...as all you have to do is go to the kymco site....which explains the promotion....good luck
-
IIRC, one was only eligible if they financed $1500 or more via Sheffield.
.
-
If jprestonian is right, I'm out. I paid cash.
-
jp.....may have it right......i financed 2k on my purchase (card amount varies as a function of cc level purchased)...so if you paid cash you may be out of luck....the world is certainly upside down.....paying full cash price should get you a gas card from kymco itself if not the dealer>>>>
-
I traded a 2006 Vstrom for the 2009 XCiting and got a $100 card... No cash except to pay registration and licensing.
-
I purchased my Grandvista the end of March, and I am still waiting. I've talked to the dealer, and to Kymco, and I still don't have it. I think I'll send another email to Kymco USA. This is getting ridiculous!

I can't find Kymco's E Mail. If you would pass it on, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

review page 1 of this thread....i think only available if financed via Sheffield....try kymco usa .com or kymco info.com

Nope - I didn't finance mine and I got it.
-
interesting....that was my original take...until someone else on this thread said otherwise.....

Their email contact is info@kymcousa.com
The requirements for the gift card may have changed, or maybe the dealer has to have a certain number of financed sales. I didn't think I'd qualify since I just did an even trade - but I did. I haven't got my regular license plate yet - but I've had the gift card for a few weeks...
-
when I bought my Kymco in March, I contacted Kymco about my $100 card. They told me that the dealer had to submit the paperwork to them and then they would send me the card.
I shot an e-mail to my dealer, they "remembered" to send in the paperwork, and I got my card.
So maybe checking with the dealer that they processed the paperwork would help.

March 14th,to May 31, 2011 purchase a 2011 or prior kymco scooter or mc: $100.00 gas card
June: purchase a Kymco 125cc or larger scooter or mc:$100.00 gas card. (no card for 50cc purchase)
July, August and Sept: Purchase a 50cc scooter:$50.00 Gas Card, 125cc or larger:$100.00 Gas Card
Does not matter how you paid for the scooter, you get the card.

Update....I E-mailed Kymco USA and questioned about my gift card and their reply was they had no record of it and that I should contact the dealer and have them re-submit the paperwork for it. I tried to call them and found out they had closed their doors and were out of business. I emailed Kymco again and told them the situation and included
a copy of the original "bill of sale", the notary fees, and a copy of the new Title.
Kymco said they would accept that paperwork and process my request for the $100 Gift Card and should have it in- hand within 2 weeks. I'm glad that they made the exception and pleased that their customer service proved to be
as good as their Scooters....
-
I've heard people be really critical of Kymco and their customer support - but so far I've had the same good support from them. I even had a piece of my mirror fell off - and the dealer took one off of a showroom bike and put it onto mine. Of course - that's just a good dealer (TJ Cycles in Austin) - but Kymco sent me my gift card before the state sent me my license plate - and they've responded to email questions (which is why I had their email address).
-
Hopefully, KymcoUSA monitors their word-of-mouth "press" on the Internet, and is trying to change what has been, IMO, a rather cavalier attitude towards dealers and customers. That's what the smart companies do.
.
-
Four calls to the dealer. I'm getting stonewalled. Will make last call tomoro.
-
It seams like a good dealer makes all the difference. I got my card in about 5 weeks.
I will say Kymco USA will not answer my phone calls or emails. They need a big improvement in customer service.
They have one of the best scooter lineups going but that could change quickly.
-
bought my machine end of august....and am still waiting....but at least dealer called me back to tell me problem was on their end as they left something out of the paper work...
when dealing with dealers you have to remember their focus is on moving their inventory and the next sale......your job is to stay on top at the point of being a pain in the butt.....

After purchasing my Yager in June I called the dealer 4 times with no results. Finally, I contacted Kymco and below is a copy of my E Mail and Kymco's response. I brought it to the dealer and he is working on it now. I did remove some of my ID but I can be emailed thru the site.
To qualify for the promotional gift card, your dealership has to do 2 things:
1 – submit a gas card claim form
2 – warranty register your unit on the KYMCO Dealer website.
I can confirm that your unit has been warranty registered, but we have not received a claim form for this purchase.
Please contact your dealer and request they submit the claim form (available on the KYMCO Dealer website) and request that we confirm receipt.

I have also contacted my dealer multiple times, and Kymco Usa several times. I don't know what else to do :( Any more ideas?

i am beginning to think this issue is a good way from separating, the good the just ok and the worse dealers from one another.....and i am being liberal here.....4-6 weeks good
6-9 ok....10-12 weeks and beyond...god awful.......once the dealer has made the sale it is in his hands.....if you are not getting your rebate....it is in his hands .....bad paper work ....not kymco......based on my experience.
-
It took mine around 5 to 6 weeks to get here.
I took it to Sears and bought a 19.2 volt 1/2 inch impact wrench. Should work on veriators and clutches.

News flash!!! I am finally going to get my card after trying since March 2011!
I emailed Kymco USA, and they said they hadn't received the paperwork, but if I contacted my dealer today, they could process the order this week.
I contacted the dealer by phone, and they said they would fax it again for the 4th time. (?)
I received a call back from the dealer saying they had faxed the original paperwork, plus the other attempts to Kymco.
And then I received an email from Vivian @ Kymco saying they had received the fax, and would process my card this week, and to expect it in the mail next week.
All I know is that it sounds like I might finally be getting a card! (I did happen to mention that I had been on the Kymco forum, and that other people were receiving their cards. Maybe that made the difference.)
Thanks for your suggestions!
