Hello :)
my name is Theo i am a new kymco downtown owner from Cyprus, Europe.
I have about 4000km on my kymco downtown, very excited to own one although i must say i wanted to try out the sym maxsym 400i scooter. Does anyone have any experience with the sym scooters and the maxsym 400? It seems to be one hell of a scooter.
Here in Cyprus the temperatures in summer are about 35 - 40 degrees celcius. I have noticed that or at least i feel that my scooter is much faster now in october that we have temperatures of around 20 degrees celcius. Could this be true?
Here in Cyprus for some reason the dealer seems to promote the kymco xciting much more than the kymco downtown, does anyone have any clue why? I have been doing my internet reasearch before purchasing the bike and i feel that i made the right choice as i could nowhere find solid flaws about the kymco downtown whereas i could say the same about the kymco xciting.
Please give me your thoughts and ideas.
Cheers,
Theo :)
Ps. if anyone of you is interested in eyewear i am a top rated seller on ebay under this address :)

I don't mind reading about other bikes on our forum. It keeps things interesting and we learn about other bikes. Nothing wrong with a little variety but an eyewear commercial on a Kymco forum? Look in the mirror.
Keep posting theocy, you're welcome here.

I would say your bike is just braking in. I am in Canada and I have ridden in 35 degree as well, I am now riding in minus 5-10 degree and the only thing I notice is I use more fuel to warm it up before riding. BTW I have 14000 K on mine now, just changed tires.

I don't know but mine did also. With the problems I had with him I no longer buy from him.
Please give me your thoughts and ideas.

You are welcome here, and it is OK to mention non-Kymco scooters too, esp. in comparison to Kymco scooters.
The link to your eye wear ebay store amounts to SPAM, and it NOT welcome.
So, keep the scooter posts coming, please leave out the SPAM though.

Jay

I couldn't find too much info on the maxsym 400. I looked on their website and it wasn't listed. I think I read that it wasn't fuel injected though. Any websites with more info?
