My GV is been at the dealer for repair after an accident on 11/13. I went down on the left side so the mirror and all the left body panels had to be replaced along with the side stand switch. The dealer called me yesterday to say it's done and ready to be picked up!
I didn't think about this when I bought it, but the GV design puts the mirrors so that they'll hit if you go down on either side. It would've been helpful to have some type of guard to take the blow.
Even though I'm getting it back, I can't ride much yet because my right thumb was injured in the crash. I see a specialist today to have it checked out.

Too bad about the accident, but glad you had only minor injury. Hope it heals fast.
If you find any crash bars for the GV, let us know.
I always fold the mirrors when doing parking lot maneuvers, but don't know if that will protect them in a fall.

Yeah, the mirrors, grips, and levers are always the first to get damaged. It's been so ever since motorcycles were invented, I think. Glad it's all fixed. :)

A teenager on a bicycle swerved right in front of me. I grabbed the brakes and went down. Nothing broken, but some scrapes and that sore thumb. Got some new riding gear and when riding my scooter from the dealer this morning at 28 degrees stayed nice and warm. The scoot looks good as new. I'll be practicing panic stops without locking it up.

Whoops, sorry, AVGuy. I read the wrong author for that post of yours. Yep, I remember you telling us about your spill. Glad the scooter is back in good shape. I did a few really hard stops and think I warped my back rotor. Got a used one off ebay that I'll install soon.

Glad to hear that you are OK. But what did the specialist say about your thumb? Hopefully it will mend fast.

He checked it out & said it should be ok, just will take some time. Have to do exercises and see how it goes. The biggest problem is we've had so much rain I haven't been able to ride much.
