Just a note to introduce myself I will soon be the proud owner of a Like 200i LX. I have placed my order and I'm told it will be about 4 weeks to delivery. I have owned motorcycles in the past but I always wanted a scooter. After much research I decided on the Kymco. I am recently retired so the scooter will be my second "car".

If you are anything like me it may become a big part of your life. I don't use the jeep or other bike anymore. It was throwing money out the window. At Least $600.00 a month on gas. Now I spend 100.00 a month on fuel for two scoots. (one gets 100mpg, and the other 23-25).
Welcome to the forum, and let the fun begin...

The last years of my working time I was doing 70 miles a day comute in a VW Golf. It was costing about $200 a month just to work. Now the VW is sold and i am looking forward to scootin'.

Thanx for all the welcomes, I have been lurking here for about 6 months learning about Kymco products. When I first started a search for my new ride I tried out scooters from Sym but then they had their distributor melt down. Our local dealer for them unfortunately went out of business. Kymco seems to be much better placed in this market and my dealer has a long time in the scooter biz. He sells Kymco, Genuine and Sachs. Of course the great price for the Like didn't hurt.
-
I really do believe Kymco is the best dollar for dollar value in scoots right now. Some others are better but the price tag distracts from the fun factor. Kymcos are fun. The dealers seem to be lacking all over the world but Most repairs can be dealt with at home with a few simple tools. Even modifications are easily done with basic skills/tools.

By the way Zombie, did I really see the ET on that drag scooter correctly? Wow! What engine size? It was obviously a two-stroke.
-
That scoot runs a 50cc block with a 127cc BBk. Yup you did see right. 11 something seconds@103mph quarter mile. Not bad for a DWI scoot.

Not bad for a DWI scoot
..huh?...oh, okay...i get it....
:o
-
That is amazing. When in college I had a Yamaha 250 twin with hi-comp heads and expansion chambers that would blow off a Triumph 650 twin to 90MPH, but that little scoot is a killer.
-
In Florida 50cc scoots are called dwi scoots (driving while intoxicated) Oddly enough you Must have a valid Drivers Lisc. to ride one. This state is FULL of dumb asses.
-
..liquor sickles here...
..aannd, you need no license...
..twist-n-go...

DWI (Driving while intoxicated)
Been there done that, tripped balls.

Same thing for the women I like... small, and fast.
Are you referring to the rd250 2stroke? That was my first street bike. 90 was top speed down a very steep hill in stock trim. That must have been one hell of a bike with pipes on it. Mine had a Giant wind screen that became a sled in the winter. Gained almost 10mph minus the screen.
-
..its how i got here...
-
..that yellow ppl i bought with the screen is slower with than without...5mph...

..its how i got here...
I remember we both started about the same time. Every post w/ Picts. had a beer in it somewhere. It was like "Where's Waldo". Look at us now... The same!

...yee-haa!

Huyup! Man I miss that bitch... (of course the scoot). I'm thinking of a color...

...zombie.......brother...i've always wanted to ask......
...who is the blonde person???...holding the..rake??

Nope it was a YDS3 with TDIB heads. Fiberglass tank and seat. Even with the modifactions I rode it to school and work on the LA freeways and lived!

That's my wife. Inbred, and corn liquor fed. (no joke). Her Grandpa is her Dad, and the only work he Ever did was shinin'. I felt REAL bad for the girl, and married her so the insc. would cover rehab, and therapy. For her real life was real bad. You see Grandpa/dad never left. She just never stayed sober.
-
omg now that I beleave.
-
...grampa/dad....oh hell.....
-
Oh HELL!
Sybil had Nothing on my wife... The kicker is when Grandpa /dad finally did die the family switched from shine making to Meth making. I guess they see it as a step up into the modern world. They all still live on the same 85 acres/10-12 trailers on the edge of the Apalachicola National Forest. They have two barge tow cables they string across the river at night. One 100 yards upstream, and same downstream. You don't want to be out there after dark/before dark/ever...
When I met her she was 32, and had run away. It was the first time she was out of liberty county.
Now she is up in your neck of the woods... Good Luck guys!
-
..i'll be on th lookout...sounds like my kinda girl!!...
:-\
-
I'll say this... Give her an bunch of sh** from the trash, and you will have liquor, and meth before lunch. I still talk to her mom. She is a F'n Train wreck.
Sorry about all the drama New Dude! We forget this place is public sometimes/always.
