Scooters - 125 to 300 => Agility 125 => Topic started by: chadbraun on May 18, 2012, 04:12:35 AM

I recently bought a 2007 Agility 125 from a friend of mine. I had to take it to the shop to get it running again. My question now is that I have been reading post that people can get their scooters going 65mph. I have been riding my scooter to work now for a while and I can only get mine top speed of 40-45mph. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I could do to try and figure out why it isnt going as fast as it should. It sounds like it is running fine and I am 180 lbs so it should be going faster but I have no idea. Any ideas? Thanks

Air in the tires. GOOD tires... Do you have access to a multi meter with a tach function? That will help to tell where the issue is. Also do a compression test. It has to be over 120psi to run well. You could have cvt wear ie belt/rollers sticking pulleys. Try to get some numbers posted, and we will figure it out.
New plug, fuel/air filters go a long way too

Just as an FYI. I just bought a 2007 Agility 125 a couple weeks ago. I had the compression tested by a mechanic and the compression test scored 125. The scoot is stock and I have taken it close to 65 indicated (so close to 60).

The compression is on the low side but should be ok. We still need rpm's to know where the issue may be. Worn belt/rollers are always # 2 suspect.

This may sound like a silly question but a top end of 40 to 45mph sounds more like an Agility 50... Are you sure it is actually a 125cc bike? The plastics and decals are interchangeable. Also did a PO (Previous Owner) drop in the internals of a 50cc into the bike?
All of these could also be a factor.... ???

I'm 210 - 215 depending on how many donuts I just ate, and can get 60-62mph registered on the speedometer easily. It's a great, torquey scoot!
If all is found to be normal, placing in some sliders/rollers and other higher end aftermarket parts will help. Example: On my Yager I could get 67 on a nice flat surface. Swapped out the rollers for some sliders and I'm hitting 71-73 with more power through the entire band.
Please keep us posted!

Old tread but always like to give info for readers.
I weighed myself today and am 248lbs in clothes and jacket. I carry a backpack of around 5 pounds including a disc lock. So, just over 250 pounds and the Agility 125 reaches 65mph+ at WOT fairly readily under good conditions. Speedo is off by around 10% across the power band .
Acceleration is good and passing power adequate. Overall I find it to be a fairly punchy little engine.
