I've been saving up for a 4 wheeled ride, I'm 2-3 years away from realistically pulling the trigger (if I pull it at all). My mind is focusing on the following. Most likely a Dodge/Ply. Prowler (Hot looking car, V6 w 253 HP 0-60 times 5.5-6.0 sec.)
Delorean, Gull wing doors, SS body panels, and did I mention those gull winged doors? (Parts aren’t as much of a problem as you'd think but getting someone that knows how to work on them is. V6 is slow 0-60 10 sec range.)
New Mustang coupe or Conv. V6 or V8 (undecided) hot enough but so many around, plenty fast, but that's not my reason for getting the ride.
This would not be an everyday driver, sort of a Sunday car or special occasion deal, just something when I want to treat myself to a nice ride. The reason I gave the 0-60 times is only because some of you may not know the cars well and sometimes a V6 sounds under powered.
My fear is the Delorean is more hands on then I want to be, the Prowler has limited room but then again I don't know if I care that much and the Mustang may just be too dammed common.
Thoughts?

Delorean is old. Composite body is difficult to repair. v6 Renault engine is old. Reminds me of JZ Deloreans cocaine deal. Not a sportscar. Not an exotic. Just a complete failure.. my opinion. Or, if you really want one, wait for the electric version coming this or next year.
Prowler is ok but not my personal favorite.
Get the new Mustang V8. Get the Boss if you can. or the GT500. AMERICAN MUSCLE!!!
The Mustang v6 is ok, install an aftermarket Supercharger for a few grand and get additional 150 to 170 horses more and eat a lot of v8s on the road!
You have other choices? Euro? Japanese?

John Delorean was set up by the gov. he was never convicted and never spent a day in jail, don't buy the media hipe! The Prowler has a "Look" to it, like a real hot rod/classic cruiser even with the V6. It's quick because it's such a light car, made from aluminum where ever possible.
If I got a V6 Mustang I wouldn't change it around, it's quick enough as it is for me. The V8 is more attractive but the drawback is they are common, then there is the choice of coupe or droptop.
The idea is a car that is somewhat rare that will get looks. The Delroean is most likely onje to be out of the running, not that it's slow (er) but that it's to hard to keep up. The Prowler only has about 11K made total so it's pretty unique. I just don't know, help....

I've given some thought to that but like the Mustang it is somewhat common, not as common but they can be found pretty much everywhere. But thanks for the recomendation, it's not completely out of the running. Any idea how expensive it is to upkeep? Some German cars are outragious when it comes to brakes, and things.

...or this...

It has to be a classic if you want something different. Anyone can go into a showroom and buy the exact same new car as you, get a newly restored classic and you will stand out. Doesnt have to be expensive and since your considering a Delorean anyway which IS a classic ypur half way there :)
Personally i like the Delorean but i wouldnt ever want to own one, to me they look too dated, but not in a good way. That brushed aluminum bidywork is a nightmare if it gets knocked or scratched, tho i suppose on the plus side any damage or repairs cant be easily hidden under bondo which lets you know youre not buying a shed if you do go for that.
I own a '71 beetle, my 3rd one, and i can honestly say i get more looks, comments, smiles and waves as i drive that than ANY car i have ever owned or been in. Parts are cheap, its easy to repair myself, its fun to drive and is easy to make individual. Oh and as a bonus if you take care of it then if you decide to sell it you should get back your money, maybe even a little more.
Maybe a classic European or American car thats not long had a full restoration?

Nice but far too common, thanks.

I put some thought into a VW Thing, not many were sold in the US but I would like to have some power in my drive, doesn't have to be a burner but an old VW doesn't fill that bill to well.
My choices as I see it are as mentioned above, if I want common I'll go with a Mustang, more rare but still a little modern the Prowler, and for out there the "D". Vetts, can be sharp, as old Mustangs are too even old Chargers are nice but it's not what I'm looking for.
Maybe if I could find a new model that just didn't sell well, like a Prowler it would do the trick.
So (all) your thoughts on the 3 mentioned and which would you go with.

..yeah, i'm common...

Wouldnt choose any of them. If you were to put a gun to my head and force me to take one then its a Delorean, there is no contest for me from those 3 cars. Delorean is different, unusual and rarely seen every day, the other 2 are just boring modern cars, full of cheap plastic inside too i bet.
The only car from the 3 which wont lose half its value in a few years is the Delorean.
Just make sure it has that fully working flux capacitor fitted, cos they can be a pain to replace if its missing. :)
Latest fad here on the VW scene is putting a Subaru WRX engine in your ride. Plenty beetles and vans have them but i havent seen a VW Thing with one in it yet? Hmmmmm............
-
Mercedes F400!
Although not equipped with an V8 engine, it is considerably fast.
It take turns like a hybrid between sports car and motorbike with up to lateral 1.28 g-force while tilting at 20°.
And is not common. An oil sheik would be jealous!

That's Nissan 370Z, not German car.
I do not think that maintenance would cost a lot, especially not in USA. This car costs TWICE as much here where I live. :(
If you are into classics, this was my 1st and 2nd car, two decades ago:

And this was my 3rd car, in 1994:

Does not get much funnier than this... if you are into people looking at you. :)

Whats that 1st car Axy? Looks like a Fiat 500 but slightly different?
I would say both those cars Axy put up have far more character than any of the modern plastic cocoon's on offer today.

There are very big letters on the picture.
You might want to consult your oculist!? ;)

I meant is it a clone of the fiat 500 or something, i can obviously see what the name says in the poster, its not a name im familiair with.
Many eastern European manufacturers would buy up the presses from major car makers once they had retired a model and then "adjust" it slightly and rebadge it as their own. I wondered if this was the case here thats all.
Dont do the occult so no need to see my oculist :D
.................that is what an oculist is right? isnt it? Hope i dont look silly now :-\

..lol...eye-doc...

Axy, I had one of those in college it was a Fiat 600 later a Fiat Abarth 750. The latter with twice the horsepower and better handling. As far as a potential new ride how about a VW Golf GTI.
-
Now we're talking, Golf GTI mk1, mmmmmmmmmmm.
I remember as an apprentice being picked up by my tradesman in his new white GTI, i was totally speechless when he floored it, couldnt speak for grinning :D

That was Zastava 750 (zastava means flag in Croatian/Serbian). It was produced between 1955 and 1985 in Serbian factory "Crvena zastava" ("Red flag"). It was based on old Italian Fiat 600 and it is incredible how good that car was. It had real 4 cyl engine with water cooling, great suspension and it had the role of motorizing post-war Yugoslavia. The factory is better known for famous "Yugo" car of the 80s and now new Fiat Punto and new Fiat 500 are assembled there.
Many people here during Yugoslavia had 750 as their first car. It did 0-100 in 28 sec, had top speed of 120 hp, 610 kg and 30 hp 750 cc engine. :)
You are right when you say that those cars had more character than this plastic bs we buy today. I have no interest whatsoever in ANY car up to Nissan 370Z. And Nissan costs 60.000 EUR on the road in Croatia. :(

Almost. :) Oculist is an English word with Latin origin. It is a synonym for "ophthalmologist" or an eye doctor. (

Ok 080, it seems that your heart is hooked to the DeLorean. Then follow it... All we have to say here are suggestions and most of all, personal opinions. Again, choosing a car is a personal choice. I chose my cars based on this and not on any others' opinions or recommendations. But I still wanted to hear other peoples' opinions. Our family has been in the car business since the 60's. We've had American and European cars even some Japanese cars and what I can say is that each has its own "character". My passion for cars never changed and am still connected with the automobile industry. Also, every country or nationality have their favorites. My personal first choice are still the American muscle cars. No matter how common. I drove a Dodge Challenger and a '65 Mustang before and nothing beats a v8 rumble cruising at 5-10 mph. ;D ;D ;D That's my kind of sunday ride...

That's Nissan 370Z, not German car.
I was saying how much does the Nissan 370Z cost to upkeep, as I know many German cars are expensive on simple things like brakes etc. A tranny for a Porsch runs 30k on some models.
The F400 is not an option but thanks.
I have a friend that owns a Delorean in California, when I'm out his way he lets me barrow it, so I know the car well and one of the worst things I hear when I'm in the car is all the dumb "back to the future" jokes. Every one has something dumb to say, "does it go 88MPH?" etc, it gets old real quick. I'm leaning towards the Prowler and was hoping you'd all talk me into or out of it, sounds like you all don't like it much. The old classics listed above are nice, but not what I want. Really every car in good shape can be admired, but in those cases not for the right/same reasons.
-
I know your reasons, 080, a week-end personal cruiser! The prowler would be your best choice. This would eventually be a head-turner because of its design and the mere fact that people will only see you in this car once or twice a week. If you'll use this on a daily basis, forget the Prowler. My personal comments are (1) I would prefer a manual tranny but seems this don't have one (2) I would prefer a V8.
But a v6 is ok for cruising around. Get the dark colors and a nice pair of shades! Good luck!
-
Dont you think the Prowler just looks like a cheap and pretty bad clone of a classic hot-rod?
I admit when i 1st saw one i did think it was pretty unusual and interesting, the more i saw them tho the less interesting they got....
Its all personal tho, were all different and all like our own things, which is good, so just go with your heart and you'll pick the right one. You got a few yrs to chew it over anyway.
Where German cars can cost more for parts etc they do make it back on being better built and longer lasting than other cars. BMW for example are expensive, as are parts for it, but keep it serviced etc and it should give you little trouble even after 100,000+ miles. My bro had a BMW 3.5L coupe and official BMW parts prices where a joke, there are many good quality pattern parts tho and also we used breakers yards and ebay for 2nd hand parts when the pattern wasnt available. Didnt cost much to run, overall similiar to "normal" family cars, unless he floored it, then he needed a mortgage for the petrol :D
Who knows, by the time you do want to buy there could be some new kid on the block with a new vehicle you just fall in love with. When im looking for a new car i always imagine how i would feel walking out my door in the morning, onto my drive and seeing the car sitting there. Would it make me smile? Would i be jumping out of bed to get in it every day? Is there anything that would bug me about it? Could i change the thing that bugged me?
-
yes, it's all personal...
The Prowler has become rare and is holding up its value.
I have cars and bikes. Bikes/scoots give a different feeling when you see one. Very different.
When you get off a car, you can rest a while and schedule another trip.
When you get off a bike, you want to get on again and ride...and ride...and ride....
-

There are not many prowlers here, nobody wants them, they didnt sell new and they had trouble getting rid of them, the resell value on them 2nd hand is very low, here you would lose a lot of money if you bought one and sold it a few years later. Maybe in the future they will become classics, who knows, we could all be driving solar powered hover-bikes by then tho :)
-
Yes, who knows. There were several stop gap, bad, unwanted cars before that became classics just because they were "missed" or were just different, or any unique reason whatsoever. The AMC Gemlin was a yuuch, but now a collectors car, the Triumph TR7, the Porsche 924, and lots of other cars. I personally cant't imagine if the Aztec would make it to this level. ::)

;D May I correct you, even though English is my 3rd language. Optician is not an eye doctor, (s)he is a "technical" person in charge to dispense contact lenses and eye-glasses.
Optician does not treat eye illnesses, or perform medical tests. He works in a shop, or in the back office, his profession is not medical. :)

There is one Delorean in Croatia, and it happens to be in MY TOWN.

Its Tomatoe-Tomato, if they help me see by "fixin" my eyes he's an eye doctor. At least of sorts.
Optometrist – A Doctor of Optometry (OD) treats eye diseases and disorders and specializes in optics and vision correction.
Ophthalmic medical practitioner – A medical doctor (MD) who specializes in ophthalmic conditions but who has not completed a specialization in ophthalmology.
Ophthalmologist – An eye surgeon who is a Doctor of Medicine (MD).
Ocularist – Specialize in the fabrication and fitting of ocular prostheses for people who have lost eyes due to trauma or illness.
Still dont need an Ocularist tho since i have no glass eyes........ :)
I dont know why i spent the time looking that sh!t up.....i dont even care what theyre called, long as they fix my eyes if i need it? My doctor just sends me to a guy, he does his stuff then i leave all repaired and fixed up.
Anyway youre all going to get me in trouble from 08 now for going off topic lol. :D
Maybe i can save this.....
If you put in the wrong prescription contact lenses from your opthalmic practioner/optometrist/optician then that prowler would probably look a hell of a lot better :D
-
Go back in time and get your self a old school Nova. chevy is the way to go.
-
Thanks again to all, I'll make a few points to a few of the comments.
I'm not much of a Chevy guy, a Vette is nice enough but it just doesn't get me going, I see what you would like in an old school Nova but it doesn't tick all the boxes for me. If I went that old I'd pick up a restored 69' Mustang fastback.
Prowlers in the US sold for about 40K brand new and up until the recession were holding their price fairly well selling in the 33-35K range consistantly and many selling above the 40K mark with mods and chrome. Today the avg price is in the low to mid 20k range with some still "asking" the higher 30's.
I know the Prowler has it's warts, no cars has everything I want, part of the problem is I have a budget, sucks to be middle class sometimes.
-
This car is a fave of mine and rare, unusual and fun too. Prob over your budget unless you can pick up a deal on a 2nd hand one. If i had the cash to have another 4-wheeled toy this would definately be in the running. Dont fancy it everyday but weekends or track days would be a blast :D

I looked into this as well as a Morgan 3 wheeled front mount V-twin eng. And I think they are great! real quick, nice look but also no cover for that unexpected summer downpour we get here during the months of June/July and Aug.
nice looking out.
-
Yeah the 3-wheelers are cool.
Did you never think of a kit-car?
Or over here there are several companies who will build you a car from their kit, the prices here are comparable to a new family saloon as is the build quality. There are also a few companies building their own cars based on classics but with a modern chassis and all new components. They look old but they are all 100% new fibreglass or steel. Theres a lovely e-tyle one but thats way out our league. Seen a porsche speedster too as well as several ferrarri clones and one-off super/hyper cars. These are fully handbuild and not those diy kit-cars of the 80's & 90's.
I was surprised how many small, low volume car builders there are still out there, at least in Europe, not sure about stateside. Really thought the majors had put most of them out of business. Glad they have'nt.
This is the "new" e-type,

I was in love until I saw the price! Wow! Thanks for the links, makes for some dreaming on my part. There is a company here in the States that makes cars called factory five I should look into them, but I do prefer the real deal.
-
The E type was and still is one of my favorites. Especially the earlier models.
080, if you decide with the Prowler, do test the top for leaks. Lots of them prowlers leak during rain.
Chevy is not for me too. I never mentioned the Camaro or Vette right? ;D Cars are about love and passion and no matter how fast or powerful or whatever that Chevy to others, I just don't care. I'm a Ford and Mopar guy. Like I said before, we had a Challenger and Mustang when I was young. Love 'em Hemi'cudas, Clevelands, Windsors, Six-packs, etc. I know 080 can relate... ;D ;D ;D

Here's my interesting ride. It solves all of my issues on appearance and power ;D

Nice. I almost bought a TR6 when i was 19, wasnt as nice as yours tho.
-
I've spent thousands to get it to where it's at. It is supercharged and produces 170hp/172lbs at the wheels. It's got a supra 5spd tranny, Nissan limited slip rear, roller rockers, aircraft type oversized wiring and an 8-track stereo to boot! Car is ultra reliable and quick for 2 thousand lbs. I could have bought a Mercedes E class with enough left over to fuel it for a year. Even still, I wouldn't trade it for anything. The exhaust is all hand made tig welded stainless steel. The polished stainless mufflers were handmade to match the deep sound I was after.
-
I did look into the TR6 a couple of years ago when I first started looking, great looking car! I almost pulled the trigger on one with the O/D trans, but what stopped me was I felt it was to prone to side impact crashes.
It may be an oddity on my part but for some reason my God just told me not to take the car. Still love that hot London look and sound of that engine.
-
Very nice ride Chandler. I am impressed with the details.
Maybe you might want to go out for Tea sometime? I'll drive! ;D

Move over!...I'll drive.!

Don't ask me exactly why but if they made a 260Z with A/C and a stick I might be talked into buying one.
-
How about a 1975 Datsun 280Z Scarab? 4 speed gearbox and 327 Chevy V8. They were sold at "selected" Datsun dealers!

I designed this theme for one of our company's delivery vehicles.
Maybe I'll use 080's Prowler for the other truck....

I could use them in floods...

I love them. They call the old square body GM's "boxes", and the newer round bodies "bubbles". 24" rims are the standard but as you see they go up to 36's.
You can sell any old beat down piece of crap GM in "the hood" for 5k plus. It's in the eye of the beholder.
-
Now a days most of auto mobile companies launched awesome cars like Chevrolet Optra Magnum, Chevrolet Beat, Skoda Fabia, Nissan Micra, BMW 3 Series, Kia Optima and many more. I like this all cars and I also like all 4 wheeled rides and long drive.
-
To me... there is NO justifying the price of a new car. Even a 10,000.00 car is insane. You can buy 1/2 acre of land in/near town here for that. I wouldn't want to live in a car either. Even if it costs as much as land, which is finite by the way... The car is built to wear out. F'n NUTZ!

Depending on the currency rate and fluctuations of US$, 10.000 US$ is a price of 500 cc scooter here.
Cheapest 100-hp 4-cyl hatchback is 20.000 US$ up...

To me it is equal to paying 4,000.00 for a pack of cigarettes. It's too crazy to be true. Like the tiny INTERNET puppy.

Even if cigarettes were £4000/pack, some of us would still buy them.
I always wondered how all these average tyle folk in the US had so much land and property when they often dont seem to even have any real job as such. Guess land is just real cheap in those areas? I seen some folk on various documentaries who dont work, have retired, but own acres of land and loads of farm building full of cool stuff. Lots of them looked like bums or stoners, which isnt a bad thing, just wondered how they got the all money to buy the place in the 1st place, maybe they inherited it. We have similair folk here but theyre all farmers, running working farms. Do you not have to pay like a yearly tax on your property value over there like we do?
-
That's the cool part... If you keep your land looking like sh** the value is less. That way the yearly tax is less. Most of the hobo's you see living on farm size spreads are actually the kids of the people that farmed it before. These lazy ass bums just sit, and wait for grandpa dad to die so they can have it all for free (low taxes) and do nothing. Also land is still cheap away from big "centers". There is quite alot of 10g/acre land around here. 40-50 miles from our state capitol.
-
cheap land in the U.S. of A.... hmm... ::)
-
Wanna trade?
-
no way ... no 100 octane there...
-
I just made an offer on a Prowler, I don't expect the offer to be accepted but hope to get into some negotiations at least.
Land is just like a car as in we all have our own tastes, my mom owns a few lots in Ocala Fl. that I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole. She has them listed for sale @ 6K and no offers in 1 month.
You can buy acres in Fl. for 10K as pointed ouot but you need to be the right kind of person to want to live there. I have a wife and young child, I'd rather a place near/in town so my daughter will have several playmates close by with a libray, schools shopping all within walking or short ride distance.
Nothing wrong with thos that live ouotside of town, it,s just not for everyone.
-
You got that right. Cheap land is cheap for a reason...

This is a 10 acre island, I repeat ISLAND.. for sale here... price is around $350,000.00... good buy? ::) ::) ::)
I might save for one. This is just one of several.... http://www.palawan-online-realty.com/ (http://www.palawan-online-realty.com/)

Needs something in the pict for scale. I imagine a beer can would cover most of the island.
I can see myself riding in a tiny little circle on my $57,000.00 zx, and giggling about how frigin happy I am.

I really love four wheeled ride and car driving is my hobby. Now a days launched lots of new cars such as Mahindra Verito 1.5 D6 BSIII, Mahindra Verito 1.5 D6, Toyota Vios, Proton Exora, Toyota Camry, Nissan Grand Livina, audi, ceverolate, Honda Civic, BMW 3 Series and many more. In this all cars I like most audi, ceverolate, Honda Civic, BMW 3 Series.

The problem with an island is this: you nee a dock on the main land for shopping or shore trips. You will have to worry about kids, punks, and bandits coming ashore at night to terrorize you. Electricity, running water, garbage removal, MD's in case you become ill.
Have often wondered myself about living that way but unless you have neighboors it can be a tough life or a quick death.

All very real points... except the garbage removal. The ocen cleans itself. Just tryit, and see. Dump any amount of anything into the ocean, and it is always gone in a day or so. I change my oil over storm drains because they have the Magic of the Ocean too.

That is not a problem. If I have money to buy an island, It means, I'm rich. I can build a dock..covered of course, get security (the most expensive ones), build a power plant (solar), a water treatment facility (or buy Perrier by the bulk or vichy by the drum), garbage disposal system, a helipad for my helicopter in case I want to fetch my personal doctor. Neighbors you say? the Philippines has 7,107 islands, some of these islands are 5-10 minutes away from each other. An island is the safest place to live. Trouble makers are in the city, they commit crimes and run to the mountains and authorities can't catch them. In an island, there's no place to run to.
There are several persons I know who have small islands but they don't live there of course. They have a house or a mini resort and use this during summer time with the family or clan, special occasions, etc. or rent it out sometimes to tourists. It is also a great adventure for growing children. They learn a lot staying on an island. The cheapest island here you can get for around 50,000 dollars. As for maintenance, what they do is invite a poor family or two from the mainland to live in the island and the head of the family gets a small monthly salary for maintenance.. grounds and structures, garden, etc. They can plant vegetables and raise some livestock if they want. Great deal huh!

If I HAD to have a car...
BMW is a status symbol in USA... in Europe, it is in premium segment, but nothing special, maybe a few % more expensive than other European brands.
It is interesting that in Germany, service cost of BMW 3 series, for example, is almost 40 % less than service cost of a simple VW Golf.
For some reason unknown to me, labour cost of BMW service personnel seems to be lower.
Anyway, full streets of them where I live... good cars, a bit dull on the outside, but good engines, suspension etc.... sporty too...
-
In the Philippines, a car (any car) is a status symbol.... :D Anybody who can afford to travel daily in a car is well-to-do. You have money to buy gasoline!
-
I'd have to eat dirt sandwiches, and smoke horse dung in a pipe if I had to support a car. I live pretty cheaply here, and don't really want to change that.

What is the cost of fuel where you are? I was on vacation in South Africa back in the 80's and I picked up a solider hitch hiking, he thought I was rich. His words "Your on holiday, half way around the world, in a car, driving around just for the sake of driving around, holy sh** man your rich!" Then he asked me to "act like Michel Jackson" and "speak American Black". I wasn't sure if I was insulted or not, here I am giving this guy a ride across a desert and he wants me to put on a show for him. Lol! He was a good kid.

My car is now 2.5 years old and I bought it new. 4 cyl/110 hp Kia.
Insurance, taxes (car is taxed here as a luxury!), yearly maintenance and depreciation cost me around 0.75 US$ per kilometer. Plus gasoline on top of that.
First year I paid insurance (full coverage+theft), taxes and registration over 2000 US$.
I have to emphasize that average net monthly salary here is 1.000 US$, this particular car was around 19.000 US$ and gasoline is exactly 2 US$/liter.

And you are located where? My God that is a steep price to pay for what I call basic transportation.
-
I've given some thought to that but like the Mustang it is somewhat common, not as common but they can be found pretty much everywhere. But thanks for the recomendation, it's not completely out of the running. Any idea how expensive it is to upkeep? Some German cars are outragious when it comes to brakes, and things.
sorry didnt know if you realised but that there car is Japanese aka bulletproof lol

Converted to dollars... 5 USdollars per gallon, average monthly salary $460.00, yes, four hundred sixty dollars a month. Minimum wage is 10 dollars a day x 26 days in one month equals $260.00...less taxes....and other deductions... equals... hunger... food prices ok and other basic commodities.. an average meal is around 1 dollar. An average entry level brand new car costs $16,000-$17,000, monthly payment of a car will be more than your monthly salary... ;D I had three cars and two bikes, the two cars were company car plans. The first one was a company car that I bought at book value after I left my employer, paid around $950.00, cheeeap!!! The new one, is also a Company car plan, I only pay 50% of the car's cost payable in 5 years interest free. The other 50% is shouldered by the Company. The third car was also a company car that I bought. Company owned cars are good buys because they are well maintained. Good education will give you a good job and good perks.

Cars and such are cool but I'd like to see 008 do his black American deal... Just one quick tap dance, and maybe a rap song or two. Please!!!

Talk about a topic changer... I LOVE darn near everything made in the '40's. The cars/planes/trains/motorcycles. Hell there is nothing I can think of I don't like from that era. Maybe that Hitler guy went too far but all the rest was super cool.
-
40's? Philco fridge, Gary Cooper, Bogart, Cagney, 45rpm records, Napalm.... My father loved to watch the Zeros in the skies during WW2... the best form of entertainment according to him...
-
That's right Vivo! Everything in the forties was made to LAST, and it all had a "romance" to it. None of that cookie cutter stamped steel crap from the 50's through to today. Hell even guns were cooler.
The biggest difference was in the people...

You're damn right they last. 40's bombs being found explodes in junk shops where they are being sold.

3/4 of the third world still uses arsenals from that era. My favorite weapon of all time. In case of Zombie attacks there is nothing better than an FN 49 8mm Mauser. I've put holes in railroad tie plate at 100 yards. 1 1'4" high carbon steel!
